‼️Republicans Win Control of US House of Representatives After Midterm Election
President Joe Biden issued a statement congratulating Republicans for winning the majority in the US House of Representatives and vowed to cooperate with his political rivals to deliver results for the American people.

"I congratulate Leader [Kevin] McCarthy on Republicans winning the House majority, and am ready to work with House Republicans to deliver results for working families," Biden said in a press release on Wednesday. "I will work with anyone - Republican or Democrat - willing to work with me to deliver results for them."

Biden said the future of the United States is too promising to be trapped in political warfare and the American people want the US government to get things done for them.

US Congressman Mike Garcia's reelection victory was confirmed on Wednesday evening, providing enough mandates to tilt the scale of power in the House of Representatives from Democrats to Republicans.

While Republicans have been projected to win a majority in the lower chamber of Congress by securing at least 218 seats, Democrats retained the majority in the Senate after the midterm elections.

🗣️"According to our intelligence, the Kiev regime is preparing a high-profile provocation to accuse Russia of allegedly destroying a district hospital in the village of Velykyi Burluk in the Kharkov region, controlled by the Ukrainian armed forces, in order to keep attention away from the shelling of Polish territory by a Ukrainian S-300 air defense missile," Filiponenko told journalists.

Kremlin Spokesman on Missile Incident in Poland: US, NATO Actions Were Root Cause

Commenting on the White House's statement about Russia's responsibility for a recent incident when missiles landed in Poland, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the US and NATO actions were the root cause of everything that is happening now.

White House National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson said Wednesday that the United States believes Russia is "ultimately responsible" for the incident due to its special military operation in Ukraine.

“The Americans speak in the paradigm 'if something hadn't happened [before], this wouldn't happen [now].' Then it makes sense to rewind. And we will see the root cause of everything - it’s NATO and the United States at the helm,” Peskov said, commenting on the White House statement.

🗳️Pence Will Not Support Trump's Presidential Bid, May Participate in 2024 Election

Former US Vice President Mike Pence said on Thursday that Republicans have a better choice than former US President Donald Trump for the next presidential candidate, hinting that he himself could run for president in 2024.

🗣️"Let me say there may be somebody else in that contest I'd prefer more... I honestly believe we're gonna have better choices," Pence said when asked by US media whether he will support Trump if he wins the nomination.

"The American people are looking for a new leadership. Leadership that will unite our country around our highest ideals. Leadership that will reflect the civility and respect that most Americans have for one another... I think in the days ahead, whatever role I and my family play in the Republican Party, whether it's as a candidate or simply a part of the cause, I think we'll have better choices than my old running mate," Pence said.

‼️"I'll keep you posted," he added when asked whether Pence would be the country's "new leadership."

Trump announced his latest presidential bid on Tuesday.

🇨🇳🇷🇺 China has consistently rejected illegitimate western sanctions that grossly violate the principles of international law and free trade, and destabilize the world market, especially in the energy sector, Russia's ambassador to China, Igor Morgulov, said in an interview with Russian Journalists.

🗣 "The desire of a group of unfriendly countries to set a price cap on Russian energy resources is not on the Russian-Chinese agenda. Our country's position is perfectly clear and has repeatedly been voiced by President Vladimir Putin - Russia will not export products to states that support the introduction of a price cap on Russian energy resources," Morgulov said.

Xi Jinping may visit Russia next year, probably after the Chinese parliament's session, which takes place in early spring, the ambassador added

🇺🇳🇸🇩 🌍 African nations are at risk of starvation because of the effects of climate change, the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has said.

🗯 "If drastic measures are not taken urgently, hunger will increase as climate change is felt everywhere, most intensely in vulnerable areas, such as Sudan," Zitouni Ould-Dada, deputy director of the FAO, said.

▪️ He also called for Africa to become self-sufficient in food production, adding that fighting poverty and hunger globally “takes political will”.

▪️ According to the UN, the Horn of Africa is facing the "longest and most severe drought in recent history". The World Food Program reported that around 15Mln people in Sudan would be in need of aid next year, which is the highest number for more than 10 years.
