German Parliament's Draft Resolution on 1930s Famine in Ukraine Distorts Facts - Moscow

A resolution, which is under consideration in the German parliament, on recognizing the so-called "Golodomor", a famine in Soviet Ukraine in the 1930s, as a genocide of the Ukrainian people, is absurd and distorts historical facts, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Wednesday.

The German parliament intends to recognize the "Golodomor" as a genocide deliberately organized and supported by Russia at a session on Wednesday.

Don’t Look Up! Strange Bright Flash Spotted by Astronomers Was Black Hole Jet Pointed at Earth

In a study published in Nature Astronomy on Wednesday, a group of astronomers revealed that a mysterious bright flash observed earlier this year in several telescopes across the planet most likely came from the business end of an ultra-massive black hole called a blazar.

The sudden bright light was first observed in data from the Palomar Observatory in California, having appeared in a part of the sky where no such light had been observed before. The estimated power of the light was unimaginable, at more than 1 quadrillion times the brightness of our sun.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that "uneducated" people cancel Russian culture, while Russia continues to promote the world's finest art.
