Senior officials of the Taliban Islamist movement told The Times that the organization wanted absolute power in Afghanistan.

“We did not fight to share power with anyone,” one of the officials said.

Earlier, a spokesman for the Taliban's political office, Mohammad Naeem, declared the end of the war in the country, underlining that the military movement will not "allow anyone to use our lands to target anyone" and said that the group does not want to harm others.

🇦🇫 More than 60 countries – including the US, European countries and some others – said that foreign citizens and Afghans, who want to leave Afghanistan, must have an opportunity to do that safely.

The nations said that the Afghan roads, airport and border crossings should be open. They stressed that the Afghan people deserve safety, security and dignity, and the international community is ready to assist them in that.
