🇺🇬 Uganda has received a shipment of 1,200 vaccine doses against the Sudan strain of the ebolavirus circulating in the country from the World Health Organization
💉 According to Uganda’s Ministry of Health, the doses provided by the WHO are the first batch of one of the three potential vaccines recommended by the UN body for a clinical trial called “Tokomeza Ebola.”
🗣 “It is 09 days today that we have no new cases of Ebola, but that does not mean we are out of the outbreak,” Uganda’s Health Minister Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng said.
Earlier this month, health officials announced discharging the country’s last known Ebola patient from hospital.
As of the present time, no vaccine has proven effective agaisnt the Sudan strain, which usually kills 40%-60% of those it infected.

♦️ Organized by the Russian House in Addis Ababa and the educational and publishing center "Zlatoust", the project saw Russian language teachers from a number of African countries including Ethiopia and Sudan sharing their experiences in modern methods of teaching the Russian language and being acquainted with the results of scientific research and new tutorials.
♦️ Teachers from leading educational institutions in Moscow and St. Petersburg, authors of manuals on Russian as a foreign language, and specialists in teaching children and representatives of the publishing house presented a system for testing citizens of foreign countries in Russian. In addition, sets of new educational and methodological literature from the Zlatoust publishing house were distributed among participants.

“Although our official relations are only 75 years old, our people-to-people connections have been there much longer.” – said Ambassador Kapoor at the opening ceremony, adding that in the 15th century Russian traveler Afanasy Nikitin has presented the Indian civilization to Russians, and his impressions were later amplified by artists like Roerich and Vereschagin who projected India’s diversity through their art.
