Canberra's Ex-PM Turnbull Blasts AUKUS Sub Deal as 'Abdication of Australian Sovereignty'

In comments made on Twitter on Sunday, former Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull criticized his successor, Scott Morrison, for penning a deal with Washington in 2021 to buy nuclear-powered attack submarines from the United States, as well as present Prime Minister Anthony Albanese for continuing the deal.

The deal was foundational to the Australia-United Kingdom-United States (AUKUS) security pact, one of several founded by Washington in recent years in an attempt to unite Indo-Pacific nations with the US and against China.

“Almost completely overlooked in Australia is the fact that nuclear powered submarines to be acquired from the US will not be able to be operated or maintained without the supervision of the US Navy,” Turnbull wrote.

Classified Docs From Biden's Time as Vice President Uncovered at Private Office
Former US President Donald Trump asked if the FBI would search the homes of current President Joe Biden amid the discovery of classified documents in the office of an analytical organization in Washington.

Earlier, the White House admitted that Biden used office space in Washington for three years, where they found secret documents from the time of his vice presidency in the administration of Barack Obama.

"When is the FBI going to raid the many homes of Joe Biden, perhaps even the White House? These documents were definitely not declassified," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Last August, the FBI raided Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate, accusing him of hiding government documents.

US Korean War Memorial Misspells More Than 1,000 Names

A $22 million wall of remembrance being built to honor the names of US service members killed during the 1950-53 Korean War is so sloppy that it misses 500 dead victims, including a Congressional Medal of Honor winner, and misspells the names of 1,015 people, historians told US media.

For example, Frederick Bald Eagle Bear, a US Army corporal and member of the Lakota Native American nation, is carved into the polished granite as Eagle B. F. Bald, the report said.

John Koelsch, a helicopter pilot shot down and who later died in a North Korean prison camp, was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor but his name is misspelled too, the report added.

Ancient Brazilian Stone Tools Were Actually Made by Monkeys, Not Humans, Study Says

Stone tools found at Pleistocene archaeological sites in Brazil were not made by early humans, a study by Argentine government agency CONICET (National Scientific and Technical Research Council) scientists suggests. The real creators could have been the ancestors of modern capuchin monkeys.

Archaeologist Agustín Agnolín and paleontologist Federico Agnolín compared these 50,000-year-old objects made of quartzite and quartz pebbles with tools made today by capuchin monkeys in the Serra da Capivara National Park in Brazil.
