Bill Gates said he'd rather fund vaccines than go to Mars like Elon Musk

The Microsoft founder stated in an interview that he would rather pay for "life-saving" jabs than spend money going to Mars, commenting on how his priorities differ from Twitter owner Elon Musk.

"It's actually quite expensive to go to Mars," he told western media. "You can buy measles vaccines and save lives for $1,000 per life saved, and so it just kind of grounds you, as in: 'Don't go to Mars.'"

🇹🇷 Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu called on the US ambassador to Ankara to "take his dirty hands" out of the country on Friday, accusing him of trying to "provoke" Turkey.

"I'm talking to the US ambassador… get your dirty hands off Turkey, I say it very clearly: get your dirty hands off Turkey. I know exactly what you have done, what steps you have taken, how you want to provoke Turkey," Soylu was quoted as saying by a Turkish TV channel.

Earlier this week, the consulates of Sweden, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Germany in Istanbul stopped receiving visitors after the US had issued a warning about possible terror attacks. On Thursday, Soylu called the move a "psychological war" against his country.

Russian Envoy Tells Sputnik New Canadian Sanctions 'Ridiculous,' Moscow Will Respond

The latest round of sanctions imposed by Canada against Russia is "ridiculous" and Moscow will respond accordingly, Russian Ambassador in Ottawa Oleg Stepanov told Sputnik on Friday.

"This is ridiculous. It’s just the desire of [Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie] Joly to curry favor with Ukraine and the United States," Stepanov said. "It discredits the quality of the Canadian diplomatic service."

"The answer will follow," Stepanov added. "We always act based on the principle of reciprocity - symmetrically, asymmetrically, but for every unfriendly action on the part of the current Canadian authorities, which we look at with regret, we will respond. If the unfriendly steps were not taken then there would be no need for a response."
