RMT Trade Union Turns Down 'Dreadful' Offer by UK Rail Firms Amid Souring Job Dispute
The National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) rejected pay offers proposed by train firms and Network Rail, British press reported on Friday.
Rail bosses offered a minimum 9% pay increase - 5% and 4% for 2022 and 2023, respectively. However, the RMT rejected the deal after consulting with 40,000 of its members, citing safety concerns. The union stressed that accepting the deal would have led to "a severe reduction in scheduled maintenance tasks making the railways less safe" and job cuts in the industry.

They cover comments on the 2014 G7 Summit which looked at the situation with Crimea and Moscow's exclusion from the G8. In accordance with results of the 2014 Crimea referendum, the region became part of Russia in 2014, prompting calls for sanctions.
In the book, Abe recalled that at the meeting in Brussels, then-US President Barack Obama took a tough stance against Russia and personally handed out a document containing several points of sanctions against Moscow to the summit's participants, a move which surprised everyone present.
