NATO & Fruitless Talks: West Could Have Sat Down at Negotiating Table Long Ago If It Wanted - Peskov
The West could have sat down at the negotiating table on security long ago if it wanted to, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said in a recent interview with the Izvestia daily, underscoring that while the talks would have been difficult, Western countries have refused to do so.
"The situation has changed radically. Even when the president, before deciding to start the special military operation, formulated draft security treaties that were sent to Washington, Brussels and Vienna, and when we, in fact, heard that they were not ready to talk about anything with us," Peskov said.

US Must Reconsider Anti-Russian Policy to Return to Full-Scale New START, Envoy Says
For a return to the full-scale operation of the New START Treaty, the United States must reconsider its aggressive anti-Russian policy, Russia's Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov said.
"To create the conditions for a return to full-scale operation of New START, Washington must reconsider its hostile anti-Russian policy. So far we see exactly the opposite: the United States is not ready even for symbolic positive gestures," Antonov told reporters.

New Report Adds Credence to Theory That CIA Gave Info Leading to Nelson Mandela’s Arrest
In 1962, when Nelson Mandela was arrested by South African police shortly after returning to the country, it led many to speculate that the CIA may have been involved in helping the South African police find the then-controversial revolutionary.
Richard Stengel, a former editor for TIME and the author of Mandela’s Way and a podcast chronicling his conversations with the future South African president noscriptd Mandela: The Lost Tapes, wrote an article on Monday outlining the evidence supporting the theory so far and a few more tidbits that add more credence.
Classified CIA documents released in 2017 but not reported on until Stengel’s article on Monday, confirm the CIA thought the African National Congress (ANC), of which Mandela was a part of, was “communist-dominated” and dubbed Mandela a “probable communist.” Another declassified document hints the CIA was monitoring his movements outside of South Africa.

US Plans to Carry Out False-Flag Op in Ukraine Using Toxic Agents, Russian Military Says
According to Commander of Russia's Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Protection Troops Lt. Gen. Igor Kirillov, on February 22, an influential US non-governmental organization held a conference on the events in Ukraine, and former US Ambassador to Russia John Sullivan made a statement, which, in particular, said that Russian troops planned to use chemical weapons in the area of the special military operation.
"We regard this information as the intention of the United States itself and its accomplices to carry out a provocation in Ukraine using toxic chemicals," Lt. Gen. Kirillov said.
A train carrying a cargo of chemicals arrived in the Ukraine-controlled city of Kramatorsk in Donbass earlier this month and delivered to the line of contact. It consisted of 16 sealed metal boxes, eight of which had a chemical hazard sign, the innoscription "BZ" and marking with two red lines, which corresponds to the class of poisonous substances with a temporary detoxifying effect, according to Kirillov.

Norway Mulls Using US Floating Nuclear Power Plants Along Its Coast
A group of Norwegian businesses are in dialogue with US companies that lease out floating nuclear power plants, managing director of the Federation of Norwegian Industries Stein Lier-Hansen said during a power conference in the city of Stavanger.
The background to these plans is a possibly strained power situation in several places across the Nordic country, which, according to Lier-Hansen, must be remedied by "exploring all possibilities."

Danish Military Pressed for Personnel After Record Wave of Resignations
The Danish Armed Forces are facing an acute shortage of personnel with nearly 2,000 people leaving the military in 2022 alone, which is the highest number since 2010. None of the Danish Army's regiments or the Navy's frigates can muster their full strength, with more than one in three soldiers missing in the worst-case scenario, which endangers Denmark's defense plans.
The personnel shortages aggravate the workload on the remaining soldiers and may trigger further resignations, and it implies difficulties for the Danish military to commit personnel to overseas missions and its ability to carry out the tasks politicians want to tackle.

"Russia’s helicopters are very advanced and stylish, so much so that some famous Western helicopters that are going to be used by Western countries like America in the future are copies of Russian technology," said Mohammad Hassan Sangtarash, an Iranian weapons designer and security and defense strategy specialist in international relations.
Iran may acquire several models, including combat helicopters such as the Ka-52 and the Mi-28. There is also talk of creating a joint helicopter venture between the two countries, such as the Salahshoor, which would be equipped with advanced weapons and technology.

Demand for Kanye West Sneakers Rising Despite Anti-Semitic Scandals
Demand for Yeezy sneakers designed by rapper Kanye West has surged, despite his tarnished reputation due to a series of controversial comments, including ones that sparked allegations of anti-Semitism.
The sneakers, which were sold under the Adidas label, have seen an uptick in sales of 30% since October-November 2022, and are now among the top three sellers on a California-based online reseller.
However, Adidas is said to be sitting on up to $500 million worth of unsold Yeezy sneakers after cutting ties with West in October 2022, following his suspension from social media over his controversial remarks. The company has not yet decided what to do with the shoes.

First Neural Network to Give Correct Advice to Investors
Scientists from Siberian Federal University have developed an improved version of a neural network called linear-variational-inequality primal-dual neural network (LVI-PDNN) which is used to optimize mathematical models in various fields, including finance. The new neural network will be the first "investor assistant" capable of making decisions under the conditions of real market dynamics.
The key feature of the new system is a fuzzy logic controller implemented in the LVI-PDNN structure, which reportedly increases the adaptability of the system in solving dynamic problems. The research team's goal is to train neural networks to solve other financial problems so that they can fully predict the behavior of investment portfolios.
