🌍🇷🇺 Russia's former president Dmitry Medvedev says that French influence in Africa, Asia, and Latin America is drastically declining as truly sovereign countries are not afraid of the dictates of the “collective West."

▪️According to him, national interests outweigh sanctions opposition.

🗣 “The Central African Republic and Mali, without much ceremony, have already shown their French military contingents the door, and the government of Burkina Faso has generally decided to denounce the Military Assistance Treaty signed in 1961,” he posted on the social media platform VK. “The influence of the Fifth Republic in Asia, Africa and Latin America, like all other obese Western masters who have lost their vitality and social rhythm, is shrinking like ‘shagreen leather’ [a reference to French writer Honore de Balzac’s novel ‘The Magic Skin and The Wild Ass's Skin’].”

▪️ Apart from that, he noted that "the time has come for surgery to remove the malignant tumor of the colonial past."

How did the Allied intervention in Russia take place?

At the end of 1917, the Entente countries were concerned about the actions of the Soviet government aimed at getting out of the First World War. Fearing the prospect of liquidating the Eastern Front, on December 23, 1917, in Paris, France and England concluded an agreement on dividing Russia into spheres of influence. The zone of interests of Great Britain included "Cossack and Caucasian regions", Armenia, Georgia and Kurdistan; France - Ukraine, Bessarabia and Crimea. The document noted that the joint actions of the two countries are not aimed at fighting the Soviet government.

The conclusion of the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk on March 3, 1918, served as a pretext for the Entente countries to switch to open intervention on the territory of Russia.

Sputnik prepared a gallery for the anniversary of the beginning of the invasion.

Bolton Warns US to Build Up Arms Amid Emerging Tripolar Nuclear Order

Former Trump national security advisor John Bolton warned Monday that the US must recognize an emerging tripolar nuclear order, arguing that it must build up its nuclear arms rather than seek arms control agreements with Russia or China.

"Given the growing strength of the Russia-China entente and China’s expanding nuclear-weapons and ballistic-missile programs, Cold War-style, U.S.-Russia arms agreements are not merely inadvisable but dangerous," Bolton wrote in an op-ed in American media.
