UK May Be Unable to Ensure Own Security Due to Depleting Arms Stockpile, Parliament Says

"It is clear that the UK and its NATO allies have allowed ammunition stockpiles to dwindle to dangerously low levels…This inability to replenish UK stockpiles therefore puts at risk not just our ability to resupply Ukraine but also to counter any threat to our own security," the Defence Committee of the UK House of Commons said.

It is imperative for the UK government to tackle the issue of shortages in the defense industry and execute substantial orders to guarantee the durability of supply chains over a prolonged period.

🇵🇱 On Tuesday, Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak, in an interview with the Spanish newspaper La Razon, said that "thanks to the efforts of Poland" the first Patriot air defense systems were delivered to Ukraine.

🗣 "I must emphasize that thanks to the efforts of Poland, in particular, Patriot batteries or the first Leopard tanks arrived in Ukraine; we are not only the main point of transfer of aid, but also one of the largest donors," he said.

Later, the Polish Ministry of Defense stated that the words of the minister were misinterpreted.

💭 "The intention of Vice Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense Mariusz Blaszczak was to indicate that thanks to the efforts of Poland, the decision was made to hand over the Patriot battery," the ministry said.

📌 Russia has previously sent a note to NATO countries because of the supply of weapons to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any cargo that contains weapons for Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia.

📊 Since the beginning of this year, over 100 mass shootings have occurred, leaving 152 people dead and 396 injured (as of March 6).

📈 Some US media outlets have already pointed out that more mass shootings have taken place this year at this point than during any other year before at least 2013.

One of this year’s mass shootings occurred in Monterey Park, California, on January 21, in which a shooter killed 11 and injured 9 before killing himself. This was the deadliest since the mass shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde in May 2022.
