🇷🇺🇺🇸 The prerequisites for talking about the New START treaty will emerge only if Washington abandons its hostile policy toward Moscow, Russia's Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna Mikhail Ulyanov told Sputnik.

💬 "Our demands are quite modest, clear and absolutely justified. We need the United States to give up its hostile policy toward Russia, and then there will be prerequisites for talking about the New START treaty," Ulyanov said.

Russia is not satisfied with behind-the-scenes consideration of the issue of the transfer of nuclear-powered submarines by the United States to Australia, an open discussion is needed, Mikhail Ulyanov added.

He added that Russia and China are actively opposing the behind-the-scenes discussions and called for a competent, professional, and depoliticized consideration of this issue from the perspective of nuclear non-proliferation and IAEA safeguards.

New SNP Leader to Be Finally Crowned After Heated Battle

The Scottish National Party is in the thick of a leadership contest after the surprise resignation of former leader Nicola Sturgeon. The race is between three candidates: Humza Yousaf, Kate Forbes, and Ash Regan. Yousaf is the favorite among the liberal elite, but Forbes is more popular overall in Scotland. Regan's proposed policies have been met with criticism.

The new leader will be announced today, and Sturgeon is expected to formally submit her resignation to the King soon after.

The leadership contest comes amid attempts by Scottish nationalists to hold a second independence referendum, which has been ruled outside the jurisdiction of the Scottish Parliament by the UK Supreme Court.

❗️Vladimir Putin has awarded Fyodor, the Bryansk region boy who showed heroism during the attack by Ukrainian terrorists earlier this month, with a medal "For Courage"

On March 2 Ukrainian terrorists infiltrated the Bryansk region and opened fire at civilians. They shelled at least two cars, killing drivers on the spot. Ten-year-old Fyodor was in one of the cars with two girls en route to school.

With a NATO-caliber bullet lodged just under his shoulder blade, Fyodor jumped out of the car and led the two frightened schoolgirls toward the cover of the woods nearby. The schoolboy spent some time in hospital - and became a true inspiration for the country. For his selfless deed, the boy was awarded the medal "For Valor and Courage".
