❗️Minsk hosting nukes without having direct control over them does not violate the NPT, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry emphasized.

💬 "Military cooperation between Belarus and Russia is carried out in strict accordance with international law. The training of Belarusian pilots capable of flying aircraft with specific munitions, the modernization of such aircraft, as well as the deployment of nuclear warheads on the territory of Belarus without transferring control over them to Minsk, as well as access to relevant technologies, in no way contradict the provisions of Articles I and II of the NPT," the ministry said in a statement.

Deploying tactical nuclear weapons on the territory of another country is not an innovation in military cooperation between non-nuclear and nuclear powers, the ministry said, adding that NATO has long been practicing joint nuclear missions.

🇨🇳 Beijing regrets UNSC failed to reach consensus on Russia's draft resolution on Nord Stream

💬 "The draft resolution proposed by Russia offers important options for finding out the truth, but the UN Security Council was unable to reach a consensus, China expresses regret in this regard," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said at a briefing.

The US is constantly striving to conduct so-called investigations against many developing countries, but in the case of the Nord Stream blasts, Washington is secretive, the diplomat said, pointing to double standards.

China hopes for a speedy progress in the investigation so that the truth is revealed to the world and the perpetrators are punished, the spokeswoman added.

Swedes Expected to Become Minority in Their Own Country's Two Largest Cities

Despite being regularly laughed off by the press and politicians as a "right-wing hoax" and a "racist trope," a drastic population shift is clearly taking place. Sweden has until recently remained a largely homogeneous society, yet several decades of massive immigration starting from the 1980s altered its demographic composition beyond all recognition.

Among others, Syrians, Iraqis and Afghans have formed sizable communities in recent years alone, having eclipsed the traditional Finnish minority. While similar trends are being witnessed in neighboring Nordic nations and Western Europe at large, Sweden seems to be miles ahead. The rise in the percentage of people with a non-European background has risen very markedly from having been next to non-existent in the 1960s to an estimated 19% in 2022.

Japan's Opposition Blasts PM Kishida's Silence on Depleted Uranium Ammo to Ukraine

The head of the Japanese government ostensibly dodged giving a direct answer, saying something to the effect that, “despite studies on the negative effects on human health, no concrete results have been obtained”.

Taro Yamamoto, leader of the opposition party Reiwa Shinsengumi, slammed the lack of response as sending a "bad message," and added, as a parting "broadside", that Kishida himself was "from Hiroshima.”

🇬🇭 🇺🇸 US VP Kamala Harris has no moral right to talk about human rights in Ghana, local MP says

Harris, who is in Ghana on the first leg of her Africa tour, said that she had raised the issue of human rights with the country’s president, Nana Akufo-Addo, at the same time arguing that LGBTQ rights are a human rights issue.

🗣 “Do you think the Parliament of Ghana is going to be guided by the opinion of the vice president of the country that is one of the biggest abusers of human rights? Please,” Ghanaian MP Samuel George has told local radio.

George mentioned Monday’s shooting at a private Christian school in Nashville, Tennessee, which saw at least six people killed, including three children, by a 28 year-old former student, who has been identified in US media as a transgender person.

The politician’s remark comes amid debate in Ghana’s parliament on a bill that is expected to criminalize advocacy for gay rights in the country and imprison those who identify as LGBTQ

💬 "Grocery price inflation has climbed again to reach 17.5 percent over the four weeks to 19 March 2023, a record based on our latest market data. Households are now facing an £837 increase in their annual shopping bills if they don’t change their shopping behavior," the consulting company said.
