🇮🇹 Italy declares state of emergency for six months over influx of migrants

During a meeting on Tuesday, Italian Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi said that, since the beginning of 2023, there has been a sharp increase in migration flows in the Apennines. This led to a critical situation in a number of temporary accommodation centers for migrants, especially on the island of Lampedusa.

In this situation, it was proposed to take urgent emergency measures in order to normalize the situation in this "hot spot," in which 1,800 refugees were being accommodated while the center was designed to house only some 400 people.

The Italian Council of Ministers decided to declare a nationwide state of emergency at the proposal of Italian Civil Protection and Maritime Policies Minister Sebastiano Musumeci. The Italian government also decided to allocate 5 million euros ($5.46 million) from the National Emergency Fund while pending an accurate assessment of the real financial needs to solve the migration crisis, the statement said.

Supply of MANPADS to Ukraine endangers global civil air traffic

💬 "Western weapons, including MANPADS and ATGWs, which find their way to Ukraine are spreading all over the world, to the zones of other regional conflicts, falling into the hands of organized crime, terrorists and extremists ... The necessity to raise the issue of security of civil air traffic in the world, including over Europe, will soon arise," The Russian Foreign Ministry said.

The ministry added that Western arms "put into the hands of the criminal Ukrainian government and mercenaries are killing the civilian population, including women and children, in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics and the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions."

💬 "Residential areas of cities and civil infrastructure are under systematic shelling of Ukrainian artillery; the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant is being shelled with all the ensuing threats of a nuclear catastrophe on the continent," the ministry said.

Muharrem Ince, a Turkish presidential candidate from the Homeland Party (Memleket Partisi), has said in an interview with Sputnik that deliveries of munitions containing depleted uranium to Ukraine are a threat to humanity as a whole.

💬 "Signals, which are being sent through deliveries of munitions containing depleted uranium, pose a threat not only to Russia and Turkiye but to all of humanity. The entire humanity should oppose it," Ince said. "I think Britons should act more carefully on the matter," he added.

'Pentagon Leak' Outlines DIA-Assessed 'Wild Card’ Scenarios in Ukraine Conflict

The document is marked “RELIDO.” This kind of dissemination marking indicates that the originator has authorized Designated Intelligence Disclosure Officials to make further sharing decisions, such as with foreign partners, for example. The paper is dated February 24 and is labeled “ONE YEAR.” This may indicate that the DIA assessment was carried out a year after the beginning of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine.

The ‘leaked’ classified document outlines the potential effect each one of the ‘wild card’ scenarios could have, such as resulting in an escalation in Ukraine, prompting a negotiated end to the conflict, or having no substantive impact on the developments around the conflagration.

🇬🇧 'Chinese spies' slipping into UK using citizenship of third countries

MI5, the Security Service of the United Kingdom, has reportedly warned cabinet ministers that "Chinese spies" are slipping into the country by obtaining citizenship in third countries and using their visa-free access to the UK.

According to a report by UK media, the issue has prompted the UK Home Office to prepare new visa restrictions against several countries through which "Chinese spies" are entering the territory of the UK.

However, the UK Foreign Office has allegedly blocked the measure, resulting in some government ministers nicknaming UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly as "Mr Softy," the report said.

MI5 has also suggested that agents of Russia's special services could resort to the same measures to enter the territory of the UK.

⚡️ US working on 'universal' genetically engineered bioweapon, Russian parliamentary investigation says

Washington is working on a "universal" genetically engineered bioweapon designed to cause severe damage to enemies equivalent to that of a "nuclear winter," a Russian parliamentary commission investigating US biolabs in Ukraine has concluded.

💬 "The US aims to develop a universal genetically engineered biological weapon capable of infecting not only people, but animals as well as agricultural crops. Its use involves, among other things, the goal of inflicting large-scale and irreparable economic damage on the enemy," the commission wrote in its final report.

According to the commission, a key difference between traditional bioweapons programs and contemporary ones being pursued by the Pentagon is the propensity to use pathogens of little-studied natural infections with a high mortality rate, a long incubation period and symptoms typical of common diseases. This complicates the adversary's ability to discover the use of such weapons, and to quickly identify the attacker, the report said.
