🇺🇸 Montana House of Reps shut down by trans protesters

Activists showed up to support Democratic trans lawmaker Zooey Zephyr. Last week, the lawmaker was banned for “hateful rhetoric” towards Republican colleagues.

Zephyr said that the lawmakers have "blood on their hands" for passing a bill that bans so-called gender-affirming surgery on children, which can include procedures on the face, chest or genitalia.

The bill passed both the state House and Senate, and was sent to Republican Gov. Greg Gianforte's desk on Friday. He is expected to sign the bill into law.

Russian budget stable, deficit to be near target figures by year's end

The Kremlin has reported that Russia's budget is "stable" and any deficit will be near target figures by the end of the year, presidential aide Maxim Oreshkin said on Tuesday.

"The budget is generally stable. After a period of fairly large budget expenditures at the beginning of this year, we will have a surplus until the end of the year, which indicates its stability."

In general, the deficit level will be "close to target figures," Oreshkin said at the educational marathon "Knowledge. First." According to the current estimates, the budget deficit is expected to be around 2% of GDP.

Russia slams US for banning diplomats from holding Elbe day commemorations… again

The US has again banned the Russian Embassy from holding a traditional wreath-laying ceremony at an Arlington Cemetery memorial to coincide with the 78th anniversary of the Soviet and American forces meeting at the Elbe River, Russia’s Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov said in a statement on Tuesday.

Antonov stressed that it is impossible "to live and boost the Motherland’s defense capability" without remembering "the lessons of history."

"It becomes increasingly difficult for us to reach out to official Washington regarding the importance of preserving memory and working together to immortalize the heroes of those times," the Russian diplomat said.

Soviet and American troops met at the Elbe River in Germany on April 25, 1945, after completing the defeat of Nazi Germany. It was considered the highest point in allied relations of the countries of the anti-Hitler coalition.
