🗣️”Look at Germany, for example, the sanctions that they placed on Russia, the destruction of the Nord Stream pipelines that they are utterly silent about. They are destroying themselves. They are politically captured by the United States”: Brian Berletic, an ex-US Marine Corps independent geopolitical researcher and writer, on the US control over Germany

🥴 President Biden addressed the Japanese prime minister as president (such a position doesn’t exist in Japan, the emperor is head of state) during their meeting before the G7 summit in Hiroshima

Fumio Kishida, the incumbent Japanese PM, did not correct the US president, allowing him to continue talking without interruption

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has announced that she will introduce articles of impeachment for President Biden

Greene alleged that Joe Biden has violated his oath of office in not securing the country’s borders and protecting national security.

The firebrand congresswoman said at a press conference that this will be the “first set” of articles she introduces against the incumbent president, whom she said has purposefully failed to fulfill his responsibilities of the presidency.

“It is with the highest amount of solemnity that I announce my intention to introduce articles of impeachment today on the head of this America-last executive branch, that has been working since Jan. 20, 2021, to systematically destroy this country, the president of the United States, Joseph Robinette Biden,” she said.

Her announcement comes after she said Tuesday that she would introduce articles of impeachment against FBI Director Christopher Wray and Matthew Graves, the US attorney for the District of Columbia.

🗣️”It is actually even more dangerous than that, because not being an official NATO member means there is no obligation under Article 5. So they can use Ukraine as an irrational, violent, militant battering ram against Russia. And there is no obligation for NATO to rush to the rescue. So this is what it has led to, this proxy war where the entire cost falls on Ukraine”: Brian Berletic, an ex-US Marine Corps independent geopolitical researcher and writer, on Ukraine's accession to NATO's cyber defense center

NYC is literally sinking an average of 1 to 2 millimeters per year

A new study published in the journal Earth's Future has tracked subsidence, or the settling of sediments, underneath the Big Apple and found that the city is sinking an average of one to two millimeters per year. However, some parts are sinking even faster.

The port city of 8.2 million people, which sits at the mouth of the Hudson River and also straddles the East River and Harlem River, is already barely above sea level. When the city sustained a direct hit by Hurricane Sandy in 2012, the sea swelled above its embankments and inundated city streets, with water pouring into the subway system and myriad of underground tunnels as well.

New York City’s architectural race to the heavens could soon give new meaning to the term "downtown," as the weight of its many skyscrapers has been found to be compressing the earth beneath them.

Deutsche Bank has agreed to pay $75 million to settle a collective lawsuit alleging that the financial institution assisted Jeffrey Epstein's group in human trafficking for sexual exploitation

In 2022, a woman, listed anonymously under the pseudonym Jane Doe, filed the collective lawsuit against Epstein in New York together with other victims, and accused Deutsche Bank of conducting business with the financier over five years, the American business news outlet reported.

The report also said that the bank was allegedly aware of Epstein's activities to further his sex-trafficking business using the bank's money.

Doe said she was sexually abused and trafficked to Epstein's friends from about 2003-2018 and was paid in cash for sex acts, while Deutsche Bank ignored suspicious payments to numerous young women, the newspaper reported. The settlement is expected to compensate dozens of Epstein's accusers, it added.

The bank had not admitted wrongdoing as part of the settlement, according to the report.

Months before Jack Teixeira was accused of leaking Pentagon documents online, he had already been reprimanded for mishandling classified information

Air Force officials learned that the pilot took notes after viewing such materials, and then put the notes in his pocket, writes The New York Times, citing a statement from the Justice Department.

The authorities left him in the service, ordering him to stop "deep diving" into classified intelligence information. At the same time, it is unclear whether he obeyed, the article notes.

This data was provided to the court by the prosecution as part of the consideration of the possibility of releasing the 21-year-old pilot on bail: it is emphasized that his release would be a threat to national security.

The suspected leaker is accused of releasing documents related to the conflict in Ukraine, the US’ espionage activities against its partners and a variety of other national security matters.

Astronomers discover earth-sized exoplanet likely covered by volcanoes

Planet LP 791-18d, located 90 light-years from Earth, orbits a red dwarf star and is slightly larger than Earth with seven times its mass. Tidal grip keeps one side of the planet always facing the star, resulting in extreme heat and making liquid water unlikely. However, its close proximity to a more massive outer planet, LP 791-18c, causes tidal heating and volcanic activity, potentially creating an atmosphere and releasing gases that could support liquid water on the night side.

The discovery of LP 791-18d, an Earth-sized planet covered in volcanoes, challenges astrobiologists' understanding of the conditions necessary for life. The gravitational interaction between LP 791-18d and LP 791-18c causes the planet's orbit to stretch into an ellipse, leading to tidal heating and regular volcanic eruptions akin to Jupiter's moon Io. These eruptions may generate an atmosphere with suitable pressure for liquid water to exist on the night side, offering intriguing possibilities for the presence of life-supporting elements like carbon.

8,000-year-old architectural plans discovered in Jordan & Saudi Arabia

Archaeologists led by Rémy Crassard have made a significant discovery of ancient construction plans, which are believed to be among the oldest created by a highly-developed civilization. The engraved stone plans, found in southeastern Jordan and northern Saudi Arabia, date back 9,000 years and depict human-made mega-traps known as "desert kites." These trap-like enclosures were used by Stone Age hunter-gatherer tribes to capture and slaughter migrating animals.

The discovery challenges previous assumptions about the development of architectural art and abstract thinking, as these plans predate the protohistoric period of literate civilizations. The detailed drawings on the monoliths helped ancient builders avoid mistakes in constructing the large-scale desert kites. This finding suggests that architectural art and the ability to engage in abstract thinking emerged earlier than previously believed, potentially pushing back the timeline for the mastery of art and abstract concepts by our ancestors.
