The use of international trade and the dollar as a weapon by the West makes the fragmentation of the world economy inevitable

"The blatant use by the West as a weapon of international trade, finance, as well as the dollar and the euro itself, makes the fragmentation of the world economy not only inevitable, but also irreversible," Aleksei Mozhin, Executive Director for Russia at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), said.

He pointed out that Western representatives at the IMF are trying to avoid this problem, and the leadership of the international organization cannot ignore the pressure that Western participants are exerting on it. As an example of the fragmentation of the world economy Mozhin mentioned the consequences of Western sanctions introduced against Russia.

"We have learned this lesson, we will never allow ourselves to be so dependent on imports again, at least in the strategic sectors of the economy," Mozhin told Sputnik, adding that the whole world is now aware that globalization is forcing all countries to follow the path of specialization to the detriment of economic diversification and that the process of deglobalization will continue.

The Counterterrorist Operation regime has been canceled in the Voronezh Region

The US Coast Guard has started an investigation into the tragic accident involving the Titan submersible

US Coast Guard Rear Adm. John Mauger told reporters that the Coast Guard had officially formed a commission to investigate the disaster and the deaths of five people on board.

Mauger said that Capt. Jason Neubauer was going to be the chief investigator.

"My primary goal is to prevent a similar occurrence by making the necessary recommendations to enhance the safety of the maritime domain worldwide," Neubauer told reporters, adding that investigators will work on gathering evidence into the cause of the implosion.

On June 18, the OceanGate submersible, Titan, went missing during an expedition to the Titanic wreckage in an area about 900 miles east of Cape Cod in the North Atlantic, at a depth of approximately 13,000 feet.

State Duma (Russia’s Lower House) is working out a bill on regulating activities by private military companies (PMCs)

When asked if the document could be prepared and passed in the near future, Head of State Duma Defense Committee Andrey Kartapolov said that he and his colleagues “are working on it."

The lawmaker also noted that it is too early to speak about prospects of PMC Wagner in light of latest developments.

The remarks followed the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) on Saturday opening a criminal case against head of PMC Wagner Yevgeny Prigozhin for inciting armed mutiny after he accused the Russian military of launching a strike against a Wagner camp, even though the country’s Ministry of Defense denied his allegations.

The US nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan has arrived in the Vietnamese port of Da Nang

This is the first visit of USS Ronald Reagan to Vietnam since the normalization of relations between the two countries in 1995, the US embassy in Vietnam added.

The program of the visit will include meetings between the US and Vietnamese military, sports and cultural events, as well as concerts by the US's seventh fleet band.

The visit of the US military will last five days, regional news agency reported.

The Australian government announced a new package of military aid to Ukraine, in the amount of $74 million

"The Australian Government will provide a new $110 million assistance package to Ukraine <…> This package responds to Ukraine’s requests for vehicles and ammunition," the government said in a statement.

The release specified that the new aid includes 70 military vehicles, including: 28 M113 armored vehicles, 14 special operations vehicles, 28 MAN 40M medium trucks and 14 trailers, and 105mm artillery ammunition.

"In addition, Australia will extend duty-free access for goods imported from Ukraine for a further 12 months," the Australian government said.

Australia’s new military air package for Ukraine brings the country’s total support for Kiev to about $528 million, including $408 million in military assistance.

❗️ "Official negotiations" on Ukraine may begin in July, German TV channel ARD reported following consultations recently held in Copenhagen.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Western countries, Turkiye, Ukraine, Saudi Arabia, and Brazil.

According to the channel, the purpose of the talks was to get the support of countries that have so far been neutral on Ukraine conflict.

ARD does not specify whether Russia is scheduled to participate in the possible July talks.

The Ukrainian president's office has confirmed information about the meeting in Copenhagen.

Germany opposes use of Russia's frozen assets to rebuild Ukraine

Germany does not agree with the EU's plan to use frozen assets from the Bank of Russia for Ukraine's reconstruction, citing concerns over legal and financial challenges.

Some German officials believe the plan lacks support and could face obstacles.

The EU aims to raise up to €3 billion annually from Russian central bank assets, while Ukraine explores alternative ways to use the seized assets. The matter will be discussed by EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg.
