🇷🇴 Romania to open F-16 pilot training center, strengthen ties with NATO

Romanian President Klaus Iohannis discussed the topics for the upcoming NATO Summit in Lithuania's capital Vilnius, scheduled for July 11-12, including the security in the Black Sea region — the topic of "strategic interest for Romania, as well as the entire Euro-Atlantic security."

Romania was also ready to contribute to strengthening the alliance "both in cooperation with allies as the host nation of NATO's multinational structures and by increasing defense spending to 2.5% of GDP starting this year."

🗯 "BrahMos is in talks with six countries on the sales of missiles. There are countries with whom we are negotiating at a more advanced stage, it is practically a pre-contact work," Praveen Pathak, the company's chief general manager, told Sputnik.

In January 2022, the Philippine 🇵🇭 Defense Ministry and BrahMos concluded a $375 million contract for the supply of ground-based anti-ship missile systems. The contract also includes training for operating personnel and a logistics support package.

By capturing and jamming (0:07) the unmanned aerial vehicle using an anti-drone rifle, the soldiers successfully hit the target with accurate gunfire.

Once the UAV is downed (0:24), the paratroopers dismantle it, checking for explosive substances (0:34) and tracking devices, and then examine the information recorded on the installed flash drive. There, they often manage to find footage from the launch site, which makes it possible for artillery crews to precisely target enemy positions.

Ukraine has officially applied to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), Japanese media reports.

The issue will be discussed at a ministerial meeting of member countries in mid-July.

❗️Russian MoD briefing on the progress of the special military operation in Ukraine:

▪️In the Donetsk direction, Russian forces destroyed over 420 Ukrainian troops, three tanks, seven infantry fighting vehicles, one Polish Krab self-propelled howitzer, one D-20 howitzer, as well as several ammunition depots;

▪️In the South Donetsk and Zaporozhye directions, Russian troops neutralized up to 200 Ukrainian soldiers, two infantry fighting vehicles, two armored fighting vehicles, two Gvozdika self-propelled howitzers, a UK-made AF-90 self-propelled artillery system, a Msta-B howitzer, as well as one ammunition depot;

▪️In the Kupyansk direction, Russian forces destroyed up to 25 Ukrainian troops, one D-20 howitzer, a Giatsint-B towed gun, one US-made M777 artillery system, and one Akatsiya self-propelled howitzer;

▪️In the Krasny Liman direction, the actions of a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group were thwarted. Russian forces neutralized up to 95 Ukrainian personnel, one tank, four infantry fighting vehicles, one Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer, and one D-30 howitzer;

▪️In the Kherson direction, Russian troops neutralized up to 80 Ukrainian soldiers and two Akatsiya self-propelled howitzers;

▪️Russian air defenses shot down one Su-25 aircraft, 21 HIMARS and Uragan rockets, as well as 31 unmanned aerial vehicles in the DPR, LPR, and Kherson region.
