French plan to use AI cameras at 2024 Paris Olympics ‘enables mass control’

Authorities earlier said that police using real-time cameras with AI would be part of the government’s efforts to ensure security at next year’s Olympic Games, which may be attended by hundreds of thousands of spectators.

The government assures that its security proposals for the Olympics do not include the use of facial recognition technology, and that real-time cameras using AI were an experimental measure for a defined period. However, rights organizations are concerned that the government's real goal is to make the new security provisions permanent.

The Russian Armed Forces launched a group strike with high-precision sea and air-based weapons overnight, the Russian MoD says

The strike was carried out on military industry targets, fuel infrastructure and the ammunition depots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the city of Odessa, as well as on Kanatovo air base of the Ukrainian Air Force in the Kirovograd region.

All assigned objects were hit, the goal is achieved.

🇫🇷 Over 740 people have been given real prison sentences in France after the recent riots over the killing of a 17-year-old by police, French Justice Minister Eric Dupond-Moretti said Wednesday.

"I spoke directly to the prosecutor general and asked for firm solutions: 1,278 charges have been brought, 95% of which have led to convictions; 1,056 people have been sentenced to prison, 742 of which are real prison sentences," the minister told French radio.

He added that the average sentence is 8.2 months and that 600 people have already been imprisoned.

▪️ The Russian Armed Forces occupied the Molchanovo railway station in the Kharkov region;

▪️ Russian troops repulsed four attacks from the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) in the Krasny Liman direction. Losses of the UAF amounted to up to 100 troops;

▪️ Russian air defense systems destroyed 18 Ukrainian drones;
