🗣️ On what the modern Western liberal civilization is headed for:
“If we consider, for example, a futuristic vision in the cinema and the art made by the West, by the liberal West… everything is a 'Mad Max', everything is Armageddon, everything is an atomic catastrophe, or atmospheric catastrophe, or ecological catastrophe. So there is no other possible vision of the future in the modern Western liberal civilization outside of the global decay. So that is a kind of revelation of inner void of the liberalism,”Alexander Dugin, one of the world’s most famous political philosophers, told Sputnik.

🇷🇺🇧🇷 Sanctions clapback: Russian grain exports to Brazil hit historic high
Russia, for the first time ever, has become one of the top five sources of grain for Brazil, data released by the country’s official statistical agency shows. Figures show that between January and July 2023, Brazil imported 380,000 tons of wheat and meslin (a rye/wheat mixture) from Russia worth roughly $108.5 million.
The purchases were enough to put Russia on the map as the fourth-largest source of grain for Brazil overall, behind only Argentina (about 2 million tons worth $736.3 million), Paraguay (886,000 tons worth $290 million), and Uruguay (544,000 tons for $211 million). The United States rounded out the top five, selling roughly 80,000 tons of grain, worth $20.85 million, to its Western Hemisphere neighbor.

🇺🇸 GOP 2024 hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy slams US neocons ‘marching us into WWIII’
💬 “I believe in asserting American interests, but only where it advances the US interest. I’m very different from other candidates who would sooner send troops to defend invasion across somebody else’s border than the invasion on our own southern border in this country,” Ramaswamy said on the show America Reports.
The novice candidate added that, “foreign policy distinguishes me from the Karl Rove, Nikki Haley, Mike Pence, Chris Christie wing – and I think that debate is good for our party.”

🇺🇸🦠 Surging cases of flesh-eating bacteria spook US
Vibrio bacteria species that inhabit warm coastal waters cause close to 80,000 illnesses annually across the US, according to the The Health Advisory issued by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). But it is the one particular species, V. vulnificus, that is fraught with life-threatening infection. Although a majority of people suffer from it after eating raw or undercooked shellfish, particularly oysters, some get infected when an open wound is exposed to salt water.
The bacteria causes sepsis, serious wound infections and gastroenteritis. Diarrhea, stomach cramping, vomiting and fever, are some of the symptoms of a Vibrio vulnificus infection, according to the CDC. If untreated, it may result in death. Research shows that the disease resulting from the bacterial infection is fatal in one in five people who fall victim to it. Several fatal cases of the disease have been registered in Florida, US, this year.

🇫🇷🇱🇾 Ex-Italian PM: France likely downed passenger plane trying to kill Libya's Gaddafi
"A plan had been launched to hit the plane on which Gaddafi was flying," former Italian Prime Minister Giuliano Amato said, referring to reports of a dogfight taking place in the area between French and Libyan jets on June 27, 1980, the day of the crash of Itavia Flight 870, in which all 81 passengers and crew onboard were killed, and rumors that Gaddafi was aboard one of the Libyan Air Force MiG jets.
The plan was to "simulate NATO drills involving many aircraft" during which a missile would have been fired - passed off as an accident - at the plane carrying Gaddafi, Amato said. However, Gaddafi got a warning from then-Italian Prime Minister Bettino Craxi, Amato's former rival, and never boarded the jet, with the French missile allegedly intended for him ending up hitting the Itavia plane instead.

🇺🇸🇻🇳 The US wooing Vietnam into a strategic pact decades after bombing a nation into the stone age
The United States and Vietnam are gearing up to sign a "comprehensive strategic partnership" pact during President Biden’s state visit to the Southeast Asian nation next week, according to a US media report citing a senior Biden administration official and two Vietnamese sources familiar with the matter.
The agreement was proposed by Washington earlier this year and is likely aimed at strengthening US efforts to "contain" China in Asia by creating or strengthening a network of alliances surrounding the country. The agreement is also expected to ramp up economic and trade cooperation, including technology.

🇺🇸Biden’s use of aliases in emails is a ‘problem’, high-Flying DC lawyer says
Joe Biden’s use of an array of aliases during his tenure as Barack Obama’s vice president to communicate with his son Hunter "could cost him" dearly, renowned Washington, DC-based attorney and legal analyst Jonathan Turley has suggested.
In an op-ed commentary on the revelations by the National Archives this week that there were over 5,000 emails potentially linked to Biden pseudonyms, which House Republicans want released, Turley indicated that the problem isn’t so much his use of aliases, as why the president may have used them.

🇩🇪⚛️ Germany's chancellor says nuclear power is a dead horse' despite the energy crunch
Chancellor Olaf Scholz has insisted that nuclear energy “is over" in Germany, and firmly dismissed calls from Free Democrats (FDP) lawmakers in his coalition government to re-embrace the technology in light of the ongoing energy crunch.
"Anyone who wanted to build new nuclear power plants would need 15 years and would have to spend €15-20 billion ($16.2-21.6 billion) each," the chancellor said in an interview for German radio, adding that the phase-out "has been done by law... I don't need to put my foot down at all."

🇺🇸⚔️ The White House musters ‘war room’ for the GOP-led Biden impeachment probe 'pushback’
The looming prospect of a Republican impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden has reportedly prompted the White House to assemble a “war room” comprising a pack of two dozen lawyers, legislative assistants, and communications staffers.
The WH counsel’s office has been gearing up for an “aggressive response” to the Republican-led House investigations into the Bidens for months, sources told a US media report. The strategy being hashed out in this war room is ostensibly tailored towards "pushing back" at the possible impeachment inquiry, aiming to shred it to pieces as no more than an unsubstantiated and bogus partisan inquiry.
