The looming prospect of a Republican impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden has reportedly prompted the White House to assemble a “war room” comprising a pack of two dozen lawyers, legislative assistants, and communications staffers.
The WH counsel’s office has been gearing up for an “aggressive response” to the Republican-led House investigations into the Bidens for months, sources told a US media report. The strategy being hashed out in this war room is ostensibly tailored towards "pushing back" at the possible impeachment inquiry, aiming to shred it to pieces as no more than an unsubstantiated and bogus partisan inquiry.

In early August the defense secretary had sent a letter to his US counterpart, Lloyd Austin, hinting that the contract could be canceled, British media reported.
Wallace could have been seeking the cancellation of the contract over the helicopters' costs, but also due to his anger over US's refusal to support his candidacy for the post of the NATO secretary general, the report said.
The UK will receive 14 Chinook H-47 helicopters produced by US company Boeing, with the first deliveries scheduled to start in 2026.

Every year on 3 September, Russia commemorates Solidarity Day, contributing to the global fight against terrorism, 2023 being no exception
🕯 This day came about after the tragic events of early September 2004 when from the 1st to the 3rd of that month, one of the most heinous crimes not only in Russian but in global history, occurred after terrorists seized children, parents, and teachers as hostages in a school in the city of Beslan, North Ossetia.
🙏 For more than two-and-a-half days, militants held more than 1,100 people inside the booby-trapped building and 334 of the hostages were killed, including 186 children. However, thanks to a counter-terrorism operation, 811 lives were saved. Ten members of the FSB (Federal Security Service) and two members of the Ministry of Emergency Situations lost their life during their brave service.
