🗣️ On the new reality the US has to come to grips with:

So I think there's a whole new reality setting in in the West about the impossibility of achieving their goals and objectives, especially if those goals and objectives are prefaced on the requirement for the Ukrainian army to be able to sustain this kind of large scale offensive operations. I think this is it. I think we've hit the high water mark of this conflict in terms of this is as good as it's going to get for the Ukrainians. It will never get any better. They will never have an army that was as capable as the army that they had that they threw into battle when this counteroffensive started. Those troops are gone, never to be replaced. And from here it's just downhill,Scott Ritter, former US Marine intel officer and UN weapons inspector, told Sputnik.

🇻🇳 Vietnam ‘has no interest’ in joining the 'US-orchestrated’ anti-China coalition

Washington is eyeing “swaying Vietnam to its side,” for it believes the US can use Hanoi as “a counterbalance to China’s influence in South East Asia,” Professor Anna Malindog-Uy, vice president of the Manila-based think tank Asian Century Philippines Strategic Studies Institute (ACPh), told Sputnik.

Vietnam is vital to US foreign policy for several political, economic, and geopolitical reasons, the professor underscored. Firstly, the “strategic geographical location” of Vietnam in Southeast Asia is important to the US. Vietnam boasts “close contiguity and nearness to major global shipping lines like the South China Sea, and it has a border with China,” Anna Malindog-Uy stressed.

🇺🇸US casts doubt on tank supplies to Ukraine as Russia wipes out the West's armor - report

The Russian military has destroyed so many Western armored vehicles during the special military operation that the United States and Europe have begun to question their effectiveness, a US magazine reported. As the authors of the publication note, the Russian army has successfully turned Western armor into smoldering junk, as it happens, with its domestic Kornet-model anti-tank units.

According to the journalists, the US has long been wary of sending M1A1 Abrams to Ukraine because it was afraid of massive losses of these vehicles on the battlefield, which could make the US military-industrial complex lose face, thereby soiling its much-hyped image. The Ukrainian Armed Forces has already lost a number of German Leopard 2A6s and British Challenger 2 tanks, although experts say they are more likely to endure combat than their US counterparts.

"French troops were deployed on the territory of Niger at the request of Niger itself ... France's position is simple: we condemn it [the military takeover], we demand the release of President Bazoum and the restoration of constitutional order, and we do not recognize the legitimacy of the rebels' statements ... And if we ever redeploy troops, we will do so at the request of President Bazoum," Macron said at the G20 Summit in New Delhi.
