🗣️ On President Joe Biden’s improvements in domestic policy:

I mean, let's remember when Biden first became president and we were told that the pandemic policies were going to cut child poverty in half, which was a lie. They never accomplished that. But as you said, temporary. So the child tax credit is gone. The automatic enrollment of Medicaid is gone. People all over the country are being kicked off of Medicaid, losing their SNAP benefits. They may, in fact, be eligible under their state's rules, but there's no more assurance at the top that people are going to receive these benefits. And you're not supposed to mention it,Margaret Kimberley, editor and senior columnist at Black Agenda Report and author, told Sputnik.

🗣️ On how the media massively overhyped the Ukrainian counteroffensive:

The joint US-Ukrainian effort to turn the tide of public opinion after this counteroffensive demonstrated that Ukraine isn't in a good shape, that Ukraine isn't going to win the war. As I said earlier, Ukraine fatigue is growing more and more common in Western countries... We've seen in polls in France and Germany, and in the United States, you're seeing more and more people oppose sending more weapons and ammunition to Ukraine. And so in addition to this public relations offensive, we're also seeing something similar in the Western media,Bryce Greene, contributor to Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting, told Sputnik.

🇮🇷 President Ebrahim Raisi “stole the limelight” at the UN General Assembly, with his speech on the “global transition from unilateralism to multilateralism” and Iran’s rising role internationally effectively serving as an “obituary of US hegemony,” one of Iran’s top international broadcasters has reported.

“President Raisi said the project of global Americanization has failed, referring to the staggering collapse of the policy of unilateralism with Washington in the role of a hegemony,” the outlet wrote.

Raisi emphasized that “the equation of Western domination does not work for the world anymore,” and that “the old liberal order that used to serve the interests of imperialists and capitalists has been brushed aside.” The planet, he said, is “reaching a critical junction point as an emerging order of non-Western states look to pursue closer economic and political ties with one another.”

🗣️ On Zelensky's claims that Russia has kidnapped Ukrainian children:

Obviously Zelensky is trying to vilify Russia to justify continued arms shipments to his country. I've been in the Donbass twice in the last – in less than a year. And I've talked to people about the children who were killed by the government in Kiev over the years. And moreover, I witnessed, in my own cross-border trips into Russia from places like Estonia, Ukrainians voluntarily emigrating to Russia… A lot of the Ukrainians going to Russia are going there because they want to go there, because they feel safer there. And again, that is something being obscured by people like Zelensky,Dan Kovalik, attorney and human rights activist, told Sputnik.

🇦🇺 Australia, with a population of 26 million, faces a severe shortage of rental properties due to rising construction costs and opposition to new housing developments by activist groups.

Only 0.9 percent of rental properties are available, exacerbating the housing crisis. The number of new developments is declining, driven by high building costs, low planning permissions, bankruptcies among building firms, and a labor shortage.

🇺🇸 An attorney representing 300 individuals suing the US Navy asserts that the Navy, being a sophisticated entity, was well aware of its legal obligations to preserve evidence related to the 2021 fuel storage facility accident in Hawaii that contaminated local water supplies. They criticize the Navy for not preserving call logs and text messages on officers' cellphones, which has raised concerns during an ongoing lawsuit in the US District Court for Hawaii.

In spring 2022, data on the phone of Captain James "Gordie" Meyer, the former commander of Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command in Hawaii, was wiped during a "tech support incident." Similarly, Captain Erik Spitzer had his phone wiped upon his retirement in June of that year.

The plaintiffs' attorneys, including Kristina Baehr, Lyle Hosoda, and Frederick Baker, argue for an "adverse inference" from judges, contending that the deletion of messages itself serves as evidence against the government defendants.
