🌍 Global Support is Needed to Make Western Countries Admit Guilt for Years of Enslavement, Expert Says

More global support is required to raise awareness within the Western civil society about the impact of colonialism on Africa, the founding Chief Director of the Institute for Economic Research on Innovation at the University of Technology of Tshwane, Rasigan Maharajh told Sputnik Africa.

🗣 "It's not that we are looking for individuals to be paid amounts of money. It's for collective remediation of a situation made untenable by the stealing of people and moving them across the planet," the expert said.

Any EU attempt to impose restrictions on Russian nuclear energy would be blocked by Hungary, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto told Sputnik.

🗣 "They can’t [sanction it] because it would be against our national interests and we would veto it," Szijjarto said on the margins of the UN General Assembly.

EU and NATO allies tried to persuade Hungary not to engage with Russian and Belarusian representatives during the United Nations General Assembly in New York. However, Budapest believes that such behavior leads to a dead-end and does not contribute to the search for a peaceful resolution of the conflict, Hungary's Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto said in an interview with the Chinese television channel CGTN.

🇷🇺 While addressing the Eastern Economic Forum earlier this month Russian President Vladimir Putin announced Russia is working on "weapons based on new physical principles" that "will ensure the security of any country in the near historical perspective."

Even though the Russian president did not elaborate what models of innovative arms he meant, Russian military observers suggested Putin's remark is more likely a reference to lasers and other high-energy, physics-based weapons.

What is known about these arms?

Relations between Canada and India have continued to sour after Ottawa accused the government of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi of a “link” with the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Canadian citizen who headed an Indian secessionist group known as the Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF), in British Columbia earlier this year.

Canada would never create such a rift with a US partner as it has with India without some kind of direction from Washington, an expert told Sputnik. Analysts should be wary of accepting the spat at face value, as it’s likely part of an effort to intimidate India into being more cooperative with the West.
