“If we must suspend diplomatic relations with Israel, then that is what we will do,” he wrote on X on Sunday.

🇮🇱Israel responded by moving to suspend defense cooperation with Colombia.

This decision could have significant ramifications for Colombia's military, according to Colombian lawyer and public policy adviser Mario Hurtado Cardoso.

“Colombia buys a lot of weapons from Israel, or through Israeli mediation,” he told Sputnik.

In 2022, Colombia imported $1.883 million worth of goods from Israel, while exporting $1.075 million to the Jewish state, according to data citied by Western media outlets.
