On 2 August 1993, Smith lured a toddler, Derrick, to a park in western New York, smashed his head with a rock, and strangled and sexually abused him.

⚡️ US 'not pessimistic' about JCPOA Vienna talks with Iran, but says they cannot go on indefinitely
It turns out that abusive relationships can exist not only between spouses, but also between restaurant owners and regular customers.

Allen Sisk, 72, who is a regular at the popular Edgar Café on Amsterdam Avenue, New York, was accosted by Joseph DiBenedetto, the owner of the establishment.

🧁 Allen was peacefully browsing pastries in a nearby café when Joseph pounced on him, claiming “I don’t want you here.”

🗣 One day he told his other customers ‘I see you both go eat at the restaurant next door Scarlatto.’

Well maybe he isn't exactly an abuser but at least extremely jealous?

😨 Where is your mask, Joe? A restaurant is a public place!
Jen Psaki, in her usual manner, decided to protect Joe Biden and explain to journalists the reasons behind the president's decision not to wear a mask at a DC restaurant.

🗣 “I think what you are referring to is a photo of them walking out of a restaurant after they had eaten, mask in hand - where they had not yet put them back on yet,” Psaki said at her daily press briefing.

🗣 “I would say, of course, there are moments when we all don’t put masks back on as quickly as we should.”

Brilliant, except for the fact that the video still captures the president walking without a mask in the restaurant itself

Texas Congressman Michael McCall said China's growing missile arsenal could threaten U.S. security.

🗣 This is the most advanced, most dangerous weapon system that we cannot defend ourselves from. We knew they had these missiles when they paraded them in Tiananmen Square. But, we have not seen them actually use it. It is the capability that it was able to orbit the earth and land about 25 miles away from its target, that is the most disturbing thing of all. I call it a wake-up call for the United States and our allies. It is also kind of a Sputnik moment, if you will, where we have to win this global competition against our greatest adversary communist China

The New York City Community Design Commission voted unanimously to remove the statue of Thomas Jefferson, author of the Declaration of Independence and third President of the United States, from the New York City Council Chambers at City Hall.

Black, Hispanic, and Asian city councilors have long objected to the statue's presence because Jefferson owned slaves.

🧐 Who do you think will soon replace Washington on the $1?

“The Klu Klux Klan dressed protester case should have never been brought as the plaintiffs have no one to blame but themselves. Rather than protest peacefully, the plaintiffs intentionally sought to rile up a crowd by blocking the entrance to Trump Tower on 5th Avenue, in the middle of the day, wearing Klu Klux Klan robes and hoods. When security tried to deescalate the situation, they were unfortunately met with taunts and violence from the plaintiffs themselves. Seeing this for what it is, prior to my deposition today, the Court dismissed almost all of the plaintiffs’ claims—except for a baseless claim for injuries they never suffered, and the temporary loss of a worthless cardboard sign which was soon thereafter returned to them.  After years of litigation, I was pleased to have had the opportunity to tell my side of this ridiculous story—Just one more example of baseless harassment of your favorite President.” — Donald J. Trump
