🇺🇸 Donald Trump vows to reimpose travel ban targeting Muslim countries if he gets reelected in 2024
💬 “You remember the travel ban? On day one I will restore our travel ban. We had a travel ban because we didn’t want people coming into our country who really love the idea of blowing our country up,” Trump told the annual summit of the Republican Jewish Coalition on Saturday. At the rally, the 45th POTUS also took a dig at the Biden administration’s “weakness,” promising to “restore peace through strength,” while also preventing “World War III.”
Back in 2020, Joe Biden overturned his predecessor’s ban, while decrying an unacceptable rise in Islamophobia.

Scott Ritter: Israel faces ‘near impossible task’ in Gaza
💬 "Simply trying to navigate the rubble-strewn streets of Gaza will be a nearly impossible task for the Israeli troops. The going will be slow, and the Israeli infantry will have to operate dismounted, exposing themselves to sniper fire and ambushes. Israeli vehicles will find themselves hemmed in without the ability to maneuver, making themselves vulnerable to mines, improvised explosive devices, and anti-tank weaponry. Close air support under these circumstances will be very difficult, effectively neutralizing Israel’s greatest advantage," Scott Ritter, military analyst and former US Marine Corps intelligence officer, pointed out.
Israel has conducted a series of ground incursions into Gaza over the past week, each building on the last and increasing in scope and scale. This appears to be part of an Israeli strategy to gradually build up to an operation that, when completed, will fall just short of a general assault on Gaza, according to the analyst.

🏦🇬🇧 The Bank of England (BoE) is anticipated to predict an increased risk of a recession for the UK economy in the months ahead.
The upcoming meeting of the BoE’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) on November 2 is expected to:
• Revise down its estimates for gross domestic product (GDP) both for the second half of this year and for early 2024.
• Forecast an unemployment outlook of around five percent in the upcoming months - a surge up from 3.5 percent registered last year.
• Retain the key interest rate at 5.25 percent for a second consecutive meeting, despite inflation remaining high.
Britain is experiencing the worst inflation challenges among the Group of Seven, with the inflation rate at 6.7 percent in September.

🇪🇺 Despite the EU claiming it may soon find legal leverage to use profits generated from Russia's frozen assets to aid Ukraine, this is empty talk, Jacques Sapir, director of studies at the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS), and Dmitry Golubovsky, analyst at Zolotoi Monetnyi Dom, told Sputnik.
Per the experts, the EU does not have a legal framework for "stealing" Russia's frozen assets or profits generated from them. What's more, such a move would be disastrous for the bloc's reputation and would immediately alienate high-profile global investors, according to Sputnik's interlocutors.
"If the EU implements what could be called a 'legal theft', the EU’s financial reputation would be ruined among non-Western countries. I don’t see investors from the Gulf States or from India or China to be very comfortable with this situation," stressed Jacques Sapir.

🇷🇺 Call sign Matryona, a female medic serving in the assault corps of the Skiff Battalion (BARS-35), described her experience surviving an attack by a Ukrainian kamikaze drone.
💬 "I was evacuating the wounded from the front lines in this vehicle when a kamikaze drone struck us as we approached the hospital. I got shrapnel in my eye and suffered a concussion… It was hard to get myself together at first... But then we kept moving, taking the fighters to the hospital for further evacuation," the medic said.
The Ukrainian kamikaze drone took the life of one of the soldiers and inflicted severe injuries on another three. Even after sustaining injuries herself, Matryona displayed remarkable courage by providing aid to her comrades in need.

🇮🇱 Israel reconsidered its original plan regarding a ground assault targeting Hamas in Gaza after receiving advice from American officials, including Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin, a US report has claimed. The initial blueprint for an Israeli ground invasion of Gaza to go after Hamas ostensibly left US officials “alarmed.”
Subsequent brainstorming between the two allies prompted Israel to refrain from a full-scale invasion of the enclave in the wake of Hamas’ attack on October 7, US sources were cited as saying.
As a result of “war planning” between Israel and top US officials, the IDF was prompted to embark upon “more limited ground incursions” into Gaza, in line with a “phased” approach, as per the report.
