Sy Hersh: Israel won’t stop bombing Gaza until 65 percent of Hamas tunnels destroyed

The IDF’s full-fledged war against Hamas includes underground warfare that aims to obliterate “a labyrinth of tunnels under Gaza”, US journalist Seymour Hersh wrote in an article on Substack. He cited unnamed sources as saying that the goal of the current IDF incursion is “to break Hamas’s defensive perimeter around its main bunkers and tunnels in the center of Gaza City.”

The sources argued that “there is no sign” that the Israeli military will halt “the nearly round-the-clock bombing campaign until 65 percent of the [tunnel] targets for destruction have been hit.”

The IDF earlier promised that it would “continue and intensify” its ground offensive into Gaza as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected growing international calls for a ceasefire in the Palestinian enclave.

🇬🇧 UK opposition leader Starmer faces party divide over Gaza ceasefire

Labour Party leader Sir Keir Starmer was quick to pledge support to Israel in its latest attempt to destroy the Hamas movement in the besieged Gaza Strip, following the October 7 surprise attack by militants that killed some 300 Israeli troops and police and 1,100 civilians.

In a radio interview on October 11, Starmer — a barrister and former head of the Crown Prosecution Service — said Israel had "the right" to impose a total blockade on Gaza, cutting off electricity and water supplies to its 2.3 million inhabitants.

That prompted a backlash among left-wing and Muslim Labour MPs — reportedly up to a quarter of the Parliamentary Labour Party (PLP) group — forcing the leader backtrack and say now supported a "humanitarian pause" in Israel's bombing campaign, but insisted that a full ceasefire was not "the correct position."

Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer said that the money trail was traced coming from CEFC to Joe Biden's account, starting in July 2017. That’s when Hunter Biden began corresponding with his Chinese business partner Raymond Zhao demanding a capital payment of $10 million.

Weeks after the president's son warned of his father's wrath, a sum of money materialized and was deposited into Joe Biden's bank account. This transaction occurred on September 3, 2017, through a check labeled as a "loan repayment."

Ukraine curtails Bayraktar drones due to impotence against Russia's air defenses

Moscow continues to prevail over Kiev in drone warfare, as Russian troops successfully use advanced unmanned aerial vehicles in the special military operation zone in Ukraine.

The Kiev regime has decided to limit the use of the Turkish-made Bayraktar TB2 drones in the face of sophisticated Russian air defenses, Colonel Volodymyr Valiukh, a commander of Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate, told an international defense news outlet.

Valiukh made it clear that although there is evidently still some use for the TB2s, the deployment frequency and roles for those UAVs had changed.

The US Air Force revealed Wednesday that it terminated a minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile during an earlier test launch after it had an anomaly mid-flight.

"Space Launch Delta 30 safely terminated an unarmed Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile over the Pacific Ocean at 12:06 a.m. Pacific Time November 1, due to an anomaly during a test launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base, California," the release said.

Officials have detailed that an analysis group will investigate the cause of the launch mishap.

🇨🇦 Over 60% of Canadians are dissatisfied with the government led by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, a Leger poll revealed on Wednesday.

"Less than one-third of Canadians are satisfied with Trudeau’s government (30%), 3 points lower than our last Tracker in September," the poll said. Another 24% are "somewhat dissatisfied" and 39% are "very dissatisfied," bringing their total share to 63%.

Report: Germany May Ditch Joint Fighter Jet Project With France to Join UK

Germany may abandon the Future Combat Air System (FCAS) fighter jet project it is running with France and Spain in favor of another project with the United Kingdom, UK media reported on Wednesday, citing people in the know.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is reportedly concerned that the FCAS project risks becoming too costly, as Germany has already committed 40 billion euros to it.

In addition, the FCAS jets may not be commercially viable because they are scheduled to be released in 2040, while the US' sixth-generation fighter jets are expected by 2030. The project has allegedly been plagued by delays and disputes over funding and design.
