Washington DC has banned dancing at weddings under "insane" new COVID-19 social distancing rules.

Democratic Mayor Muriel Bowser's office said it was slapping a ban on dancing, claiming people's behaviour changes when they get on the dancefloor and they are more likely to come close or touch.

Former US President Donald Trump released a brief statement on Monday backing those who booed and insulted what he described as the 'Republican In Name Only' Senator Mitt Romney during a Saturday event inside Utah's Maverick Center while the latter delivered pre-written remarks about Biden and his feelings about Trump

"So nice to see RINO Mitt Romney booed off the stage at the Utah Republican State Convention," Trump wrote. "They are among the earliest to have figured this guy out, a stone cold loser!"
⚖️ US District Judge Alison Nathan ruled to delay the trial of Ghislaine Maxwell, planned for 12 July, until the fall of 2021.

The postponement came on the grounds of further charges earlier added to the case by federal prosecutors and difficulties due to coronavirus-related restrictions. Nathan ordered prosecutors and the 59-year-old suspect's lawyers to propose a specific trial date by 10 May.
🛢The Biden administration backs keeping the $3.7bln Dakota Access pipeline open, the Army Corps of Engineers revealed in a court document.

"The [Army] Corps is not aware of information that would cause it to evaluate the injunction factors differently than in its previous filing," the court filing said, adding that an environmental review for the pipeline is slated to be completed by March 2022.

🤬 Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputy was subjected to a tirade of abuse after he stopped the teacher for using her cell phone while driving in San Dimas with her son in the car.

The woman is heard racially abusing a Hispanic police officer in bodycam footage and repeatedly calling him a "murderer".

The deputy sent the bodycam video to LA-based Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin, who posted it on Twitter on Monday.
The United States has transferred all of the remaining detainees out of the notorious Camp 7 at Guantanamo Bay and consolidated the 40 remaining prisoners in two units at the prison camp on the eastern edge of Cuba.
