🇺🇸 Local police are investigating an apparent attempt on Thursday night to break into the Oconee Nuclear Station in South Carolina, according to a release.

🗣 "A white male driving a silver 2002 Toyota Camry drove through the exit side of the gate on the Highway 183 side of the facility," the release by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office stated. "After the vehicle struck the pop-up barricades that security at the plant activated, the driver backed the vehicle up and proceeded down a dirt road, where Duke Energy security blocked the vehicle in."

The driver attempted to hit the security officers before driving through a fence and out of the plant’s exit, where they attempted to hit a security truck. Returning to Highway 183, the driver went to Pickens County and pulled onto a property on Jones Mill Road, where shots were fired, the release added.

As the Gaza conflict unfolds, one might be tempted to compare Russia's military conduct in Ukraine to Israel's in Gaza.

From both a legal and military standpoint, Russia's actions fall within the norms of international law governing war and humanitarian affairs, writes Scott Ritter, a former Marine intelligence officer and ex-UN Special Commission weapons inspector.

While Russia launched its special military operation exercising the inherent right of individual and collective self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter, Israel cannot invoke the same right as an "occupying power," according to the 2004 advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice.

Similarly, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) repeatedly resorted to deliberate targeting of residential areas in Gaza, as described in its infamous "Dahiya Doctrine," while the Russians tried to minimize civilian casualties, even putting themselves at risk during the battle for Mariupol, the expert stressed.

🗣 "Cooperation between Russia and the Republic of Belarus in the nuclear field is of a comprehensive strategic character, it covers the key areas ensuring the energy security of our states," Likhachev said at a handover ceremony.

🇺🇸🇮🇱 Ukraine Is 'yesterday's news' in US, but war hawks will keep profiting, ex-lawmaker says

"Public attention faded once Ukraine’s counteroffensive failed. Now, all eyes have shifted to Gaza; Ukraine is yesterday’s news," former Virginia State Senator Richard Black told Sputnik. "Nonetheless, war hawks profit handsomely from the war and intend to keep on spending until every Ukrainian is dead. They care nothing for men’s suffering when there are still fortunes to be made."

The Israeli aid bill passed the House yesterday. However, the Senate seems poised to vote it down. They intend to layer on additional billions in wasteful spending for Ukraine. Both parties support aid for Israel, but aid for Ukraine is highly contentious. Americans ask why our borders are undefended while politicians spend fortunes abroad.

🇺🇸🇵🇸🇮🇱 Biden's disregard for Arab suffering may cost him presidency, ex-US senator says

"The Associated Press reports that Michigan’s large Muslim community has turned against him; if Biden loses Michigan, he may lose the election," former Virginia State Senator Richard Black told Sputnik.
"In 2020, Jews voted 75% Democrat, and 65% of Muslim-Americans did likewise. On October 31st, Reuters reported that Arab American support for Biden and the Democrats had plunged to 17% in recent polls."
Black concluded by saying that while most Americans feel that Israelis were justified in fighting back after the attack by Hamas on October 7, the question is: How much is enough?

🪖 NATO’s "strategy" in Ukraine backfired on all fronts because it was “not fact-based”, ex-US Department of Defense analyst Karen Kwiatkowski told Sputnik

“Ideology and domestic interest-based, in some cases based on financial bribery and energy blackmail by the US, it was a strategy of finance and military aid/contracts rather than an actual strategy.”

Referring to a Ukrainian top General admitting earlier that there would likely be no “deep and beautiful breakthrough” in its counteroffensive against Russian troops, the pundit added:

“In a world with well-informed, logical and humanitarian leadership in Kiev and Washington, we would indeed consider Valery Zaluzhny's evaluation as a precursor to immediate negotiations with Russia.”

🇺🇸 🌍 What Are US Motives for Deploying Its Biolabs in Africa?

On Thursday, Russian diplomat Oleg Ozerov, the head of the Secretariat of the Russia-Africa Economic Forum, said that his country is concerned about the possible expansion of US biological laboratories in Africa, given that Africans have no access to the results of such biological research conducted in their countries.

☣️ Deploying the biological laboratories in Africa allows the United States to transfer risks associated with multiple compliance requirements at home to an African state and "reduces accountability" in terms of possible immediate consequences of their activities in the laboratories, Director of the Centre for Military Studies (CEMIS) at the South African Stellenbosch University, Moses Khanyile, told Sputnik Africa.
