The European External Action Service briefed diplomats from EU countries this week that the bloc was very likely to miss the target, which would complicate Ukraine's ability to keep up with the pace of Russia's own ammunition production. Despite Ukraine's claims that the modified Neptune is a powerful weapon capable of posing a challenge to Russia's hinterland, the rocket is a thing of the past, retired colonel and expert at the Association of Military Political Scientists, Andrey Koshkin, told Sputnik. An Iraqi resistance group has claimed responsibility for a drone strike at al-Tanf garrison in the US-controlled part of southeastern Syria, near the Iraqi border, Syrian state news agency SANA reported Friday.

The Iraqi militia said in a statement cited the news agency that the drone hit the target directly. No other details were given.

The B-21 Raider stealth bomber has officially gone airborne during the first test flight on Friday, nearly a year since the aircraft was presented to the public, a US Air Force spokesperson told Sputnik in a statement.
