Russia has improved its capabilities in reconnaissance and strike coordination, a former Pentagon analyst, Dara Massicot, said while commenting on Russia's recent strike on Ukraine's 128th Brigade with an Iskander missile.

🗣 "This gathering is a fleeting event or time-sensitive target, so the Russians either had advance knowledge of it or observed it through drone footage and were able to quickly call in an Iskander strike - which is a CAA-level asset," Massicot explained.

On Nov. 3, Russian forces struck Ukraine's 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade with an Iskander mobile short-range ballistic missile system. The strike took place during a ceremony dedicated to Ukrainian soldiers at a Kiev-controlled site in the Zaporozhye region. Vladimir Rogov, a senior official in the Zaporozhye regional administration, reported more than 50 Ukrainian soldiers killed, in contrast to the 128th Brigade's confirmation of 19 deaths.

"It just struck me in writing this piece that we have these genocides intermittently because we, the Western world, collectively find them useful, particularly when the victims are people of color", Jon Jeter, journalist and author, told Sputnik.

🇪🇺🇺🇦 The EU is unlikely to deliver on its promise to provide one million shells to Ukraine by March 2024, Bloomberg has reported.

The European External Action Service briefed diplomats from EU countries this week that the bloc was very likely to miss the target, which would complicate Ukraine's ability to keep up with the pace of Russia's own ammunition production. It was planned that the EU would provide Ukraine with shells within a year - first from existing stocks, and then through joint purchases and increased production capacity.

So far, as the report noted, the allies have achieved only 30% of the goal under this initiative. At the end of October, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said that the foreign ministers of the EU member states were unable to agree on the allocation of the next funding package for military assistance to Kiev.

An increase in uranium particles in the air following the depleted uranium munitions depot explosion in Ukraine earlier this year has been detected as far as the South East England, warns Dr. Christopher Busby, physical chemist and scientific secretary of the European Committee on Radiation Risk.

While the amount of Uranium particles inhaled by the affected people may seem negligible at first, Dr. Busby notes that such exposure may have a severe detrimental effect on the health of the affected and their offspring.

🗣 “Levels in Poland, Germany, and everywhere else on its journey to England, will have been much higher,” he says.

Russian air defenses have repeatedly intercepted Ukrainian-made Neptune anti-ship missiles, busting the myth of the subsonic low-altitude rocket's invincibility.

Despite Ukraine's claims that the modified Neptune is a powerful weapon capable of posing a challenge to Russia's hinterland, the rocket is a thing of the past, retired colonel and expert at the Association of Military Political Scientists, Andrey Koshkin, told Sputnik. Given that Ukraine is currently incapable of launching mass production of these rockets, Kiev may have just a few of them in its stockpiles, he added.

🗣 "Most likely, these missiles are preserves for certain purposes associated with certain terrorist acts. That is, they are likely to launch this missile one at a time, but for sure, and hit some extremely important target on our territory," Koshkin suggested.

Former US Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter expressed his skepticism about Israel’s ability to deal with both Hamas and Hezbollah.

According to him, Hezbollah forces have enough rockets to overwhelm Israel’s defenses, not to mention that the Israelis themselves have admitted that they do not know the full extent of Hezbollah’s capabilities.

🗣 “So, you know, this is the reality: Israel on its own cannot defeat Hezbollah,” Ritter said.

🇩🇪 Germany has set a goal of rebuilding its military forces, declaring Russia the greatest threat to peace and security in the Euro-Atlantic area.

Berlin also pledged to spend 2% of its GDP on military spending from now on in accordance with NATO's target. However, Berlin's profound shift from pacifism to militarism comes as the nation is facing economic slowdown, de-industrialization with any further growth coming under question.

🗣 "The question arises among serious experts, specialists and politicians, and among the public: is there money for this?" Alexander Rahr, a German political scientist and Head of Eurasian society, asked while speaking to Sputnik. "Do Europeans have enough strength, and, I would even say, political will to really become such a new militarized force alongside America?"

A mysterious buyer of an unnamed Israeli air defense system is most probably Ukraine, Russian military experts Yury Knutov and Dmitry Drozdenko told Sputnik, after Defense News reported the apparent deal.

Sputnik's interlocutors cast doubt over the rationale of the deal concluded at the heights of the Palestine-Israel conflict. At the same time, they have drawn attention to an apparent failure of Israeli air defenses to completely shield the state and the population from Hamas rockets.

🗣 "Israel could not cope with the raids," Drozdenko said. "That is, it is capable of repelling certain, let’s say, attacks, but there is nothing extraordinary that would make Israel’s air defense system the best on the planet, because such systems simply do not exist. If we talk about advertising, then war is not always advertising."

An Iraqi resistance group has claimed responsibility for a drone strike at al-Tanf garrison in the US-controlled part of southeastern Syria, near the Iraqi border, Syrian state news agency SANA reported Friday.

The Iraqi militia said in a statement cited the news agency that the drone hit the target directly. No other details were given.

The outpost in Syria, as well as the Al-Asad air base near Baghdad in Iraq, has recently seen a spike of attacks by those the Pentagon press secretary, Pat Ryder, described were Iranian proxy groups.

The B-21 Raider stealth bomber has officially gone airborne during the first test flight on Friday, nearly a year since the aircraft was presented to the public, a US Air Force spokesperson told Sputnik in a statement.

🗣 “The B-21 Raider is in flight testing. Flight testing is a critical step in the test campaign managed by the Air Force Test Center and 412th Test Wing’s B-21 Combined Test Force to provide survivable, long-range, penetrating strike capabilities to deter aggression and strategic attacks against the United States, allies, and partners,” the statement said.
