An all-female unit of soldiers in the Border Defense Corps who monitor surveillance camera screens, known in Hebrew as tatzpitaniyot, had reportedly observed Hamas training to “take over an observation post” for weeks.

“There is no doubt that if there were men sitting at those screens, things would look different,” one soldier was cited as saying, adding: “If we had known about this warning, this whole disaster would have looked different.”

🇵🇸🇮🇱 The situation in the Indonesian Hospital is extremely difficult: there is shooting in the vicinity of the hospital, Shehab Younis, a Palestinian journalist from the Gaza Strip, told Sputnik.

"Israeli forces are now attacking the Indonesian hospital. The surrounding area is being bombed, and horror and fear reign among the wounded and displaced inside this place. The bombing has not stopped for more than two hours, the IDF has not stopped shelling both the hospital itself and the area around it. The situation is getting worse.

First, the Israelis launched a direct airstrike on the hospital, then continued shelling. The shelling intensity is very high and is directed at civilians here. Both Israeli artillery and the IDF Air Force are attacking the hospital.

At the same time, the Israeli army began shelling the Al-Auda hospital: it is located next to the Indonesian one. The area in which both hospitals are located is under fire from literally everywhere.”

🇺🇸 US President Joe Biden's op-ed calling for continuing the proxy war in Ukraine and rejecting an immediate ceasefire in Gaza has nothing to do with peace or democratic values, as per Joe Siracusa, political scientist and dean of Global Futures, Curtin University.

Speaking to Sputnik, Siracusa called out Biden's "quasi-proxy war with Russia" and nailed Washington's hypocritical support of a two-state solution for Palestine. In fact, the US political establishment is doing everything not to let this happen, he stressed.

"The destruction in Gaza is so bad. I mean, who's going to pick up the bill? Who's going to put this place back together? You know, 60% of the housing is gone. The sewage systems are gone. The schools are gone. I mean, at the very best, Gaza, if it's there, is just rebuilt a little bit, will be a basket case for the next hundred years," Siracusa concluded.

🧐 Yellen went on to claim that unless the US adopted a new assistance package for Ukraine, Russia would go on to invade a NATO country. She did not provide any evidence for this assertion.
