"We Helped Them to Build These Bunkers"

The former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak admitted that the tunnel beneath the Al-Shifa hospital was made by Israeli engineers while Gaza was under Israeli control.

"Decades ago, we were running the place, we helped them to build these bunkers," he noted.

That's why the IDF supposedly knows for sure there is a large Hamas bunker under the hospital.

🇷🇺🇨🇳 Pepe Escobar speculates on whether the Russia-China ‘strategic patience’ will succeed in extinguishing the dangerously volatile Palestine-Israel escalation.

The Russia-China strategic partnership’s approach to West Asia, which has been "set on fire" by the neocons, is based upon "strategic timing and patience", according to the geopolitical analyst and veteran journalist.

The attacks on Palestinians are being carried out in Gaza under "a veneer of legality", with the White House "advising" Tel Aviv to act with moderation, writes Escobar. At the same time, an effort is being made by the OIC/Arab World delegation of Foreign Ministers to promote a ceasefire plan for the enclave. Notably, the delegation’s first stop was Beijing, and its second - Moscow.

Russia and China, along with a concerted BRICS position, could apply maximum pressure on Tel Aviv/Washington for a ceasefire, fully supported by virtually the whole Global Majority, Escobar reckons.

🇪🇺 European Union has reportedly devised a draft paper containing security guarantees for Ukraine. Will it help?

The framework document contains commitments that include training for Ukrainian Armed Forces, sharing intelligence and satellite imagery, efforts to align Ukraine’s defense industry to the bloc's standards, etc.

The EU-proposed sum of €20 billion ($21.8 billion) over four years to cover weapons for Kiev reportedly resulted in some members bickering over the terms. The sum has now shrunk to €5 billion for next year.

President Vladimir Putin stated in July, emphasizing that while “achieving the security of one country, threats should not be created for another country.”
