🇺🇸 Henry Kissinger is generally considered to have pioneered the policy of détente between the US and the USSR.

Kissinger met with Russian President Vladimir Putin a number of occasions, saying that the Russian leader "should be seen as a character from the novels of Fyodor Dostoyevsky, with all the contradictions and doubts about his own people".

This May, Kissinger, who said he believed in "dialogue with Russia", was ready to fly to Moscow to take part in talks with the Russian president.

He called for the conflict in Ukraine to be resolved diplomatically, with Russia maintaining control over Crimea. Because of this, he was placed on Myrotvorets, a "kill list" website affiliated with the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Wanting Ukraine to become a member of NATO, in Kissinger’s opinion, was a serious mistake. However, he later warned that the West had "armed Ukraine to a point where it will be the best-armed country and with the least strategically experienced leadership in Europe".

Henry Kissinger repeatedly urged European leaders not to lose sight of Russia’s place in Europe, and warned that the absence of Moscow in a new world order after the end of the conflict in Ukraine would be unacceptable.

🇷🇺 Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has arrived in North Macedonia’s capital, Skopje, to participate in the 30th Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), scheduled to be held from Thursday-Friday, a Sputnik correspondent reported.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Lavrov is expected to hold a number of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit along with participation in the OSCE multilateral meetings. At the same time, Zakharova said Moscow was recording attempts by some countries of the West to interfere with Russia’s normal participation in the council.

It is Lavrov's first visit to Europe since the beginning of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine on February 24, 2022.

A 24-year-old woman was killed in the shooting terror attack at the entrance to Jerusalem, according to the Magen David Adom ambulance service.

MDA's director-general Eli Bin tells the Kan public broadcaster that another five people are seriously wounded in the attack.

Last November, two Israelis, Tadasa Tashume Ben Ma’ada and Arye Shechopek, were killed in a bombing attack which took place at a nearby bus stop and at a bus stop near the Ramot neighborhood.

Kiev authorities are preparing a military provocation against Poland in the event of a critical decline in Western support, Acting Kherson Region Governor Vladimir Saldo has told Sputnik.

"According to the data received from our sources in Ukraine, we are talking about a provocation involving an attack with Western or [Ukraine's] own converted missiles, on the parts of which they want to put Russian markings to further blame Russia.

"They will be ready to do so when they feel that the West has reduced support so much that the front for the Kiev regime is ready to collapse. It could happen in the very near perspective," Saldo said.

The official added that it is difficult to assess the likelihood of implementing such a "crazy" plan and the West's reaction to its implementation.

Malicious stupidity of Russophobes reaches new heights: airplane can fly over Bulgaria, but Maria Zakharova cannot fly in it

On Tuesday, the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry granted permission for Russian FM Sergey Lavrov's plane to fly through the Balkan country's airspace to northern Macedonia for the OSCE meeting. However, Sofia removed its permission because the ministry's spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, was on board.

"The malicious stupidity of the Russophobes has reached the point that for the first time in our history the official authorities have forbidden not an airplane, but a person in an airplane to be in the sky - this is what is written in an official note of the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry: an airplane can fly over Bulgaria, but Maria Zakharova cannot fly in an airplane," the Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said.

"Nothing was said about whether I could fly over Bulgaria without an airplane or whether I could use outer space for this purpose," Zakharova added.
