🇷🇺 On December 3, Russia celebrates the Unknown Soldier Day – a tribute to defenders of Soviet Union who perished on the battlefields of World War II (the Great Patriotic War).
The date goes back to December 3, 1966, when the ashes of an Unknown Soldier were transferred to Moscow and buried under the Kremlin's wall with an Eternal Flame lighting the grave in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the major turn in the Battle of Moscow and defeat of German troops.
Every year, celebrations and solemn events take place all around Russia. Veterans of war, families and special guards attend the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier to honor the memory of those whose “name is unknown, but feat is immortal.”

Russia’s OSV-96 large-bore sniper rifle is now capable of engaging advanced NATO armored personnel carriers (APCs) thanks to a new cartridge. The bullet is high-precision and single-element, which gives it increased armor-piercing efficiency.
He added that the use of single-element bullets adds significantly to the reliability of the OSV-96 rifle, now capable of hitting a light armored car at a distance of up to two kilometers, and vehicles with more serious armor from a distance of up to 1.5 kilometers.

🇷🇺 Many years after the first Russian nuclear-powered icebreaker entered into service in 1959, Russia stands as the only country in the world that builds and operates such vessels.
These powerful vessels that can easily smash their way through thick ice afford Russia the means to maintain its presence in the Arctic region and to facilitate the flow of commerce along the Northern Sea Route.
