"I was there with a Japanese delegation in this particular visit. And for them, it was common - it was not a common, but they knew this well about the shadows on the wall and the hair and the blood from what happened in their country when they were bombed," Damacio A. Lopez told Sputnik.

Vladimir Putin chose the Board of the Ministry of Defense as a platform to outline his foreign policy strategy:
▪️Russia was not going to fight with Europe, and it is not going to now;
▪️Poland sleeps and sees how to recuperate the lands that were given to Ukraine, we will not interfere, but we will not give up ours;
▪️If they want to negotiate, let them negotiate, but Russia will do so based on its interests.

The Ukraine crisis: how did it all begin? Putin explains:
🔻The West saw that it was impossible to achieve its goals through legal means since we worked with the south-east, so it went to a coup d'etat;
🔻We calmly tried to come to an agreement, we were ready to restore the territorial integrity of Ukraine on certain conditions, so as not to endanger the people who live there;
🔻We couldn't behave any other way, or just hand over everything and watch them munch on eating everything that is ours, native Russians;
🔻The United States deliberately dragged Russia and Europe into the conflict, achieved its goal, but Moscow had no other options. Europe cannot stand up to the United States because of its dependence;
🔻For Russia, Ukraine's accession to NATO would be unacceptable even in 10-15 years, not just now;
🔻Russia will negotiate on Ukraine solely based on its interests.

US-led Red Sea operation against Houthis: What we know so far
◾️The US has announced the launch of a multinational force "to protect trade in the Red Sea" after a series of Houthi attacks, dubbed Operation Prosperity Guardian.
◾️The Houthis have stepped up their missile and drone attacks against international vessels sailing through the Red Sea, in response to Israel's assault on the Gaza Strip.
Who’s on board with the operation?
◾️US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said on Monday that the US, Bahrain, Canada, France, Italy, Norway, the Netherlands, the Seychelles and the UK are among the countries joining the initiative.
◾️ The Kingdom of Bahrain has become the one and only Arab country joining the new military coalition.
◾️The key countries of the region - the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan - are not included in the coalition. There is no official confirmation that the US invited them to participate.
Houthis Respond
◾️Houthi Defense Minister Major General Mohammad al-Atifi told Tasnim that the Houthis would ‘sink’ US warships, hours after Washington launched the operation, warning that "The Red Sea will be your graveyard" (photo 1).
◾️Muhammad Ali al-Houthi, a member of Yemen's Supreme Political Council (the Houthi government), noted on his X account on Tuesday that US "repeatedly sought direct communication with the Republic of Yemen in Sana’a, but this was rejected" (photo 2).
◾️In turn, member of the Ansar Allah political bureau, Mohammed Al-Bukaiti, took to X (formerly Twitter) to warn the new US-led coalition that the Houthis "will respond to any aggression with military operations that are unprecedented and not taken into account" (photo 3).

Why 'plan B' for Ukraine's economy may cause mass riots?
Volodymyr Zelensky's aide, economist Oleg Ustenko, tried to reassure the Ukrainians by saying that Kiev may opt for plan B if the West's aid does not arrive at the beginning of January.
Rossi doesn't rule out that the Kiev government could try to force rich Ukrainians and the public to fork out in order to close its deficit gaps.
This would give a terrible signal to these people, and also to all the Ukrainian population, since it would be a "dictatorship imposition, in an undemocratic regime that could induce a series of social riots and revolutions over the long run," Rossi said.

Volodymyr Zelensky's aide, economist Oleg Ustenko, tried to reassure the Ukrainians by saying that Kiev may opt for plan B if the West's aid does not arrive at the beginning of January.
"This borrowing mechanism means that Ukraine will issue government bonds to finance its public deficit," Sergio Rossi, a professor of macroeconomics at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland, told Sputnik.
Rossi doesn't rule out that the Kiev government could try to force rich Ukrainians and the public to fork out in order to close its deficit gaps.
