🇪🇺 The European Union, in its desire to free itself from "energy dependence on Russia," eventually changed one dependence to another, said Josep Borrel, head of EU diplomacy.

Speaking at the Sommet Grand Continent forum, he said that the EU's "reaction" to the events in Ukraine "has been impressive, including a radical reduction in our energy dependence on energy resources from Russia, which seemed impossible when this dependence was estimated at 40%." "But we did it, although we certainly paid our economic price for it… Perhaps we have replaced one addiction with another," Borrel said.

Russia has repeatedly stated that the West has made a serious mistake by refusing to buy Russian hydrocarbons, and risks falling into a new, stronger dependence due to higher prices. Moscow stated that those who refused to buy directly would still buy Russian oil and gas at a higher price through intermediaries.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the policy of containing and weakening Russia is a long—term strategy of the West, and sanctions have dealt a serious blow to the entire global economy. According to him, the main goal of the West is to worsen the lives of millions of people.

🇷🇺 🇵🇸 “Thank you, Russia!”: Palestinian doctors on Russian aid to Gaza citizens

Sameh Al-Khattab, an anesthesiologist at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, said that medicines from Russia are often found in the medical facility, for which he is very grateful to the Russian leadership. He also shared how knowledge of the Russian language helps in his work.

"The only tools we use in our operating rooms - we got from Russia," said Dr. Ayad Abu Zayer, who studied in Russia and received Russian citizenship. As a Russian citizen, Ayad could have evacuated Gaza with his family. But he refused the embassy's offer because he could not leave his hospital's patients.

❗️EXCLUSIVE❗️

A US Navy veteran who was serving in Iraq in 2008 spoke about traces of depleted uranium on equipment and explained that the US does not care about the lives of ordinary people either in Ukraine or Iraq.

"You know, it's also a terror weapon, because of the effect that it has on people. And I think it shows fundamentally that the United States does not care at all about the Ukrainian people. I think they know very well that cancer rates are going to soar with depleted uranium. They know that the child mortality rate is going to soar. They know that there's going to be horrific child deformity," Mike James told Sputnik.

Unmatched Russian combat readiness: newest game-changing aircraft and missiles in army service

“The fact that [Russia’s] strategic nuclear forces now have such advanced aircraft and missile systems will significantly boost the combat readiness of our armed forces,” Lieutenant-General Aitech Bizhev, former Russian Air Force Deputy Commander-in-Chief for the CIS Integrated Air Defense, told Sputnik.

President Putin declared earlier this week that a number of recent groundbreaking nuclear weapons are ready to enter service with the Russian army.

The weapons in question are the Tu-160M supersonic strategic missile-carrying bomber, the Yars and Avangard nuclear missile launch systems.

“Russia is able to mobilize not only material but also intellectual resources. It is not about a war economy. [Russia has demonstrated] the ability to produce military equipment even in civilian facilities,” Alexander Mikhailov, Lieutenant-General, “Strong Russia” movement, head of the “Officers of Russia” organization, also told Sputnik.
