Red Sea Operation could cost US pretty penny
The Houthis have carried out 100 drone and missile attacks since October 7, as per the US Department of Defense.
The Yemeni militants are in possession of a sizable and relatively advanced arsenal of drones and rockets which are cheaper than the US interceptors used to shoot them down.
As per the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft:
▪️ US missiles reportedly used to shoot down Houthi projectiles and drones include: the SM-2 ($2.1 million); SM-6 ($4.3 million); ESSM Sea Sparrows ($1.7 million); and Rolling Airframe missile ($905,000);
▪️ US ships cannot reload in the Red Sea and will have to return to port if the kinetic activity goes on much longer, which also means additional costs.
The costs related to the US-led Red Sea op could become much higher if Washington engages in an all-out war against the Houthis while sending military aid to Ukraine and Israel at the same time.

Who’s the IDF 'Ukrainian language teacher' in Gaza?
A video that has gone viral on social media features an IDF soldier in the Gaza Strip drawing a trident on a blackboard, presumable inside a school building. The soldier also writes 'Glory to Ukraine' and leaves a message for his mother stating that he is "in Gaza, but wearing a hat". Sputnik has managed to identify the actual person in the video (please see the video and photo 1).
◾️ Victor Friedman (Wolf), a 28-year-old Israeli IDF officer, headed to Ukraine as a mercenary in 2022. There, he joined the "Masada-6" special forces group, which consisted entirely of Israeli mercenaries and operated under the Ukrainian Main Intelligence Directorate (photo 2).
◾️At the beginning of 2023, he married a mercenary from Italy, Guilia Schiff (Kida), a former Italian Air Force officer. The Italian media wrote about their story (photo 3).
◾️Despite the legal restrictions prohibiting Ukrainian officers from leaving the country, Guilia and Victor managed to defy this law and successfully held their wedding in Italy, according to Jewish traditions (photo 4).
◾️In October, Victor was drafted into the IDF as a reservist (he claimed to have served as a tank commander in one of the Israeli army’s elite divisions), and left Ukraine. Meanwhile, the whereabouts of his wife remain unknown.
◾️On his Ukrainian-language Telegram channel, Friedman openly admitted to violating Israeli law by bringing back “some equipment and ammunition” from Ukraine to Israel. Surprisingly, in the same post, he shamelessly solicited donations from his subscribers to purchase new ammunition tools (photo 5).
