🧙♀️ State Senator Diana DiZoglio, a Democrat from Methuen, Massachusetts, suddenly became very adamant about clearing the name of a woman convicted of witchcraft and sentenced to death more than three centuries ago.
To restore the good name of alleged witch Elizabeth Johnson, Jr., the senator recruited teenagers and teacher Carrie LaPierre from North Andover, Massachusetts High School as her assistant.
🗣 'They spent most of the year working on getting this set for the Legislature - actually writing a bill, writing letters to legislators, creating presentations, doing all the research,' said LaPierre.
😁 According to teacher LaPierre, some students still asked the logical question "Why are we doing this? She's dead. Isn't there more important stuff going on in the world?"
🧐 Well, while ‘there is more important stuff going on in the world’, Elizabeth Johnson Jr. would probably be very grateful to the senator for her efforts on her behalf

The Texas GOP abortion law saga: The US Supreme Court on Monday heard two new challenges to Texas’ hotly-debated, Republican-sponsored abortion law that abortion providers and the US Justice Department argue conflicts with a constitutional right.
A majority of SCOTUS justices now seem willing to allow a challenge by abortion providers to the restrictive law that bans most abortions after six weeks of pregnancy, oral arguments have revealed.
Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh characterized the DoJ lawsuit against the Texas law as ‘irregular’ and ‘unusual’, whereas Justice Amy Coney Barrett noted that even if an abortion provider were to win in state court, the injunction would not stop others from bringing additional lawsuits.
