Ukrainian air defense missiles again hit civilian houses in Kharkov, media reported, citing a source.

“The Ukrainian side is again trying to substitute concepts, passing off the destruction of residential buildings as the work of the Russian Army. But people see and know where Russian missiles are flying and where Ukrainian missiles are landing after the air defense system has worked - this was the one that destroyed the houses of the townspeople,” the source said.

❗️LIVE: Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah el-Sisi are participating via video link in a ceremony to pour the first batch of concrete into the base of the fourth unit of the El-Dabaa nuclear power plant (NPP).

This marks the end of the preparatory phase and the start of the main stage of all nuclear power plant units' capital construction.

Under the contract, Russia will be responsible for building the nuclear power plant, supplying nuclear fuel for its entire life cycle, and providing assistance in training personnel, and support for the nuclear facility's operation for the first 10 years of its operation.

Yemen could ‘become Algeria’ for the US — award-winning journo

Washington’s actions amid the current spiral of the Palestine-Israel conflict could end up worse than Vietnam and may more closely resemble Algeria, Lebanon-based journalist Laith Marouf told Sputnik.

“Algeria was the last [throes] of the French imperialist era and France [was] retreating to its borders… it took 6 million dead, martyred Algerians for France to end its imperialist vision,” Marouf recalled.

After ten days, the bombing campaign on Yemen without authorization by the US Congress has failed to stop Houthi attacks on shipping vessels in the Red Sea. The Houthis, who are demanding that Israel halt its military campaign in Gaza, have vowed to respond in kind to American strikes.

America First vs Neocon establishment: GOP race brings clash of foreign policy visions

Since Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced on Sunday he was dropping out of the 2024 US presidential race and endorsing Republican frontrunner Donald Trump, the GOP primaries are now a two-horse race between the ex-president and former US ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley. There is a “stark difference in the foreign policies of Trump and Haley,” according to David Pyne.

“Nikki Haley has never met a war she didn’t want the US to get involved in. She has offered her full support for Biden’s proxy war against Russia in Ukraine including Biden’s $61 billion proposal for additional arms and financial support to Ukraine,” the Republican campaigner told Sputnik, “whereas Trump has been calling for an immediate cease-fire and peace agreement ending the war in Ukraine to avert a potential Third World War.”

Pyne stressed that Haley’s foreign policy vision was wildly out of touch the vast majority of GOP voters, noting that recent polling by RealClearPolitics showed that “the America First faction of the Republican Party commands over 81 percent of the Republican presidential primary vote, whereas the neocon faction has about 15 percent of the vote.”
