Who are the Al-Hashd al-Shaabi, the anti-ISIS warriors US is now attacking in Iraq? (Part2)

▪️
Tensions between the US and the PMF ramped up dramatically in 2019, after the group accused the US and Israel of bombing their bases. They escalated further in 2020, after the US assassinated PMF deputy chief Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and IRGC commander Qasem Soleimani in Baghdad without provocation. The killings prompted elements of the militia to vow to expel US forces from the region using a campaign of drone and rocket attacks.

▪️ In October 2023, the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli crisis prompted elements of the PMF to dramatically ramp up attacks on US bases in Iraq and Syria in response to the US's diplomatic and military support for Tel Aviv. On Saturday, about a week after three US troops were killed at a base in Jordan across the border from an illegal US outpost in Syria, the US launched large-scale strikes against so-called 'Iranian-backed' targets. Forces from the PMF confirmed Saturday that dozens of its militiamen had been killed or injured “as a result of the cowardly American aggression.”

Repairs plague Ukrainian Army as shells run short

Ukrainian soldiers have complained about the quality of Western military equipment, Le Figaro reports. Speaking to the newspaper, they said that the 20 tanks assigned to their unit break down regularly and need repairs. The vehicles are essentially expensive scrap.

The fighters recount launching artillery shells from distant positions, only to be obliterated by intense firepower from Russian drones closing in on them. The shell shortage is another problem – Russia outguns Ukraine threefold.

In December, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu praised the military-industrial complex for boosting its output and working round-the-clock to meet the needs of the special military operation.

❗️Ukraine forces shelled a bakery in Lisichansk. Civilians are under the rubble.

Ukrainian troops, having no success at the front, once again struck a blow against the civilian population of the Lugansk People's Republic. Knowing that on weekends residents of Lisichansk came to the bakery, they opened fire on the building.

Russian President Vladimir Putin pointed to the transformation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces into a terrorist organization for attacks on civilian targets. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the Kiev regime, in order to demonstrate to its Western backers at least some success, is constantly carrying out terrorist attacks against civilians in the Russian Federation.

Trump's campaign HQ reacted to the scandal of Biden's foul language against the Republican candidate, saying the US president's abuse is directed at all Trump supporters.

Website Politico, quoting sources personally familiar with Biden's remarks, reported that the president frequently uses foul language outside the public eye and called Trump a "sick f*ck" and "f*cking a****le" to circle of friends and close aides.

"BIDEN JUST CALLED ME A SICK F-WORD! Friend, but you know he doesn't just think that about me, he thinks that about EVERY SINGLE ONE of my proud supporters," the media quoted an excerpt from an email sent to supporters at Trump's headquarters. The candidate's campaign headquarters called the statements by Biden "a shame".
