🙈 The Simpsons’ predictions of real-world events continue to blow everyone’s minds.

🤔 The latest theory by some fans suggests that they also predicted Travis Scott’s recent Astroworld Music Festival.

With examples such as their prediction of a billionaire in space, though they didn’t name Richard Branson, or Donald Trump’s presidency, the Fox show has managed to baffle its viewers for over three decades.

And now, fans aren’t able to unsee a detail shown in one of its old episodes after the Astroworld tragedy.
💥 Radio icon Howard Stern says it could be his “civic duty” to run for president in 2024 if Donald Trump makes another attempt at the White House.

Stern even gamed out how he would handle the debates: by playing the recordings of Trump pressuring Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to “find” enough votes to overturn the 2020 election results.

“I would just sit there and play that f*cking clip of him trying to fix the election over and over again,” Stern said. “There’s no way I’d lose.”

🟩 Big cannabis companies are backing a new, celebrity-infused campaign to enlist marijuana users to pressure members of Congress to legalize pot nationwide.

Federal legalization has advanced somewhat but still faces strong headwinds on Capitol Hill. The "Cannabis in Common" initiative launched Tuesday aims to change that – and it has nabbed actor Seth Rogen and comedian Sarah Silverman to push its message.

"Legalizing cannabis is long past due, and if we make enough noise, we can make it happen," Rogen, co-founder of a cannabis company and enthusiastic user of the drug, says in a kickoff video.

📉 The number of Americans applying for unemployment benefits fell to a new pandemic low 267,000 last week as the job market recovers from last year's sharp coronavirus downturn.

Still, the economy remains more than 4 million jobs short of where it stood in February 2020.
💸 Republican billionaire Ken Langone says he plans to host a fundraiser for Sen. Joe Manchin after the conservative West Virginia Democrat blocked key elements of President Joe Biden’s agenda.

The comments came as Democrats in Congress continue to hash out major parts of Biden’s economic agenda, namely social safety net spending and plans to battle climate change.

Langone, in an interview Wednesday on CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” praised Manchin for his “guts and courage” and explained that he was set to raise money for him. Manchin is up for reelection in 2024.
🥴 California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Tuesday explained that he dropped his plans to travel to the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, Scotland, last week because his children begged him to stay with them for Halloween.

Newsom said his children staged "an intervention" and called for him to remain at home.

“I was ready to go, and I had that dinner — a lot of you know this dinner — with the family, and the kids literally, they kind of had an intervention, they said they couldn’t believe that I was going to miss Halloween,” Newsom reportedly said.
🙅‍♂️ Coachella organizers are under pressure to drop Travis Scott from their line-up after eight people lost their lives during his latest performance in Texas.

The beleaguered rapper is being sued for 'inciting mayhem' while onstage at Houston's Astroworld on November 5, prompting a catastrophic crowd surge that killed eight and injured 'dozens more.'

An online petition is now urging Coachella promotional firm Goldenvoice and their company CEO Paul Tollett to axe Scott, 29, from the event, which takes place in southern California on 15-17 and 22-24 April 2022.

So far close to 25,000 signatures have been added to the change.org appeal, noscriptd 'Remove Travis Scott as a Goldenvoice performer.'

The rapper has already been dropped from a forthcoming appearance at the Day N Vegas festival in Nevada, where he was originally slated as a headline act.
😢 Over 1,000 Afghan children were brought to the U.S. without their parents as part of U.S. efforts to evacuate allies after the country fell to the Taliban, according to the Department of Health and Human Services.

Most of the unaccompanied minors were accidentally separated from their parents or guardians during the evacuation from Kabul, Afghanistan.

The Biden administration doesn’t appear to have a plan to reunite Afghan children with parents who are being held in countries other than the U.S., Reuters reported. There also aren’t enough foster families in the U.S. with the same cultural background as the children.

📊 ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel revealed Tuesday what he thought was at least part of the driving forces behind Vice President Kamala Harris' historically poor approval rating: racism and sexism.

During his opening monologue, Kimmel joked about the reasons Harris' approval rating is so low, claiming it made no sense because "she basically has nothing to do," but ultimately blamed "sexism and racism" amid his comedic attempts.

👀 “I am human. Sometimes I screw up”.

Michigan AG Dana Nessel has apologised for a “mishap” at a football game on 30 October, admitting that she drank too much booze.

The attorney general says she attended a tailgate party where she had two Bloody Marys on an empty stomach. After that, she went to a football game, but had to leave shortly as she started to feel ill.

“I laid low for a while, but my friends recommended that I leave so as to prevent me from vomiting on any of my constituents”, the Democrat wrote on Facebook.

“My apologies to the entire state of Michigan for this mishap, but especially that Michigan fan sitting behind me. Some things you can’t un-see”, she added.

😕 Co-founder of Black Lives Matter of greater New York Hawk Newsome said there would be "bloodshed" and "riots" if Mayor-elect Eric Adams keeps his campaign promise of reinstating a controversial undercover anti-crime unit.

Newsome made his comment following a meeting with Adams. Though the two agreed on several points, they disagreed over reinstating plainclothes cops to combat the city's rising violent crime rate.

"If they think they are going back to the old ways of policing then we're going to take to the streets again," Newsome said to reporters outside of Brooklyn Borough Hall after the meeting. "There will be riots. There will be fire, and there will be bloodshed."
BLM NY co-founder Chivona Newsome stated that Mayor-elect Eric Adams longs for a New York where "Black folks get their heads cracked by law-enforcement" after the new mayor doubled down on his plan to bring back a version of the NYPD’s controversial undercover Anti-Crime Unit.

"Mayor-elect Adams is a bargain-basement Giuliani knockoff who longs for old New York where Black folks get their heads cracked by law enforcement and women sit quietly in the back of the room"
