More Russia-NATO war scenarios: UK’s Telegraph joins scaremongering crusade to spook readers
Just like a recent article by Germany's Bild, the central point of the Telegraph story is the so-called Suwalki Gap (the territory located between Belarus and Russia’s Kaliningrad region).
The Kremlin has repeatedly emphasized that NATO seeks confrontation, stating that Russia does not pose a threat. However, it has clarified that it will not ignore actions that may potentially endanger its interests.

Deputy Chairman of Russia's Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that "Chiefs from NATO countries keep saying that 'we must be prepared for war with Russia.' And although Russia has repeatedly stated that there are no plans for conflict with NATO and EU countries, extremely dangerous chatter on this topic continues."

Why have seven EU members not adopted the euro yet?
Twenty years after joining the EU, the Czech Republic still uses its own national currency, the koruna, instead of the euro. However, the government is now open to discussing the possibility of shifting to the EU's monetary unit.
There are currently six EU members who have not yet adopted the euro. So why are they holding back from making the Euro as their official legal tender?
🔸Bulgaria: Last year, the country's finance minister announced that her country had abandoned its target to adopt the euro in January 2024. They failed to meet the Maastricht criteria on inflation and did not make the necessary legal changes.
🔸Denmark: In 2000, the Danish government held a referendum on introducing the euro. However, 53.2% of voters rejected the initiative, while 46.8% approved.
🔸Hungary: This Central European country initially planned to adopt the euro by the end of 2009. However, they were unable to meet the Maastricht criteria due to an excessively high budget deficit, inflation, and public debt.
🔸Poland: This Eastern European country fails to meet the Maastricht criteria on exchange rate stability and long-term interest rates. Additionally, their laws are not completely compatible with the EU Treaties.
🔸Romania: The European Commission has concluded that Romania's legislation is not fully compatible with eurozone rules. The country is also in breach of all criteria needed for adopting the euro, including problems with inflation, stability of public finances, exchange rates, and convergence of long-term interest rates.
🔸Sweden: Back in September 2003, the Scandinavian nation held a referendum, with 55.9 percent of Swedes voting against adopting the EU’s currency.
Meanwhile, the annual inflation in the 20 Eurozone countries jumped to 2.9% in December 2023 from 2.4% in November, according to the European Statistical Office (Eurostat). The continental bloc’s highest annual inflation rate was recorded in Slovakia at 6.6%.

🇧🇬 Farmers in Bulgaria are protesting for a second day, demanding more competent management of the agricultural sector and the allocation of additional funds to the industry, Bulgarian National Television reported.
▪️ The Farmers' Initiative Committee on Monday demanded the resignation of Agriculture Minister Kiril Videev. Unhappy farmers threatened to blockade the country with protests.
▪️ On Wednesday, one of the most notable actions by farmers was the blocking of the Danube bridge near the city of Ruse. Farmers poured a ton and a half of milk onto the junction next to the bridge.
The farmers say they will bring live cattle to the center of regional cities next week if they do not reach an agreement with the government.

Tucker Carlson was added to the database of "the enemies of Ukraine" on the Ukrainian resource "Mirotvorets," misspelling "occupiers" in their "indictment note": "[Carlson is an] accomplice of the Russian war criminals and Accupiers."
Although Carlson was added to that 'Ukrainian blacklist' back in June 2023, and this has nothing to do with his trip to Russia.
However, it seems that Tucker's chances of interviewing Zelensky are now close to zero.

❗️IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi visited Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, Sputnik correspondent reports Subscribe to @SputnikInt
⚛️ Specialists from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have not yet collected enough information to say who carried out the attacks on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi told reporters.
💬 “In May last year, we received authority from the UN Security Council to monitor the situation related to the armed conflict. We cannot comment on what happened before this time, in particular in the summer of 2022. As for the period when the monitoring mandate was given to us, I want to say that we need to wait and analyze all the available information. We cannot make any sudden conclusions," Grossi said at a briefing during a visit to the station, answering the question of whether the IAEA was able to determine the side from which the shelling took place.
