Russia creates 'Stupor' defense system to counter Ukrainian drones

Russia has developed a comprehensive defense system against drones capable of detecting and suppressing them in several ways at once, Vladislav Kustarev, director of the developer company LLC Stupor, told Sputnik.

"We have developed a unified system Stupor based on complementary detection complexes, such as radar station, radio frequency scanner, optical drone detection station, and countermeasures equipment for setting barrier interference and coordinate spoofing complex," he said. This became possible with the help of company’s own software.

Kustarev added that the Shtorm (Storm) and Shtil (Calm) complexes included in the system are capable of detecting and capturing a target at a distance of more than five kilometers. In turn, the Pars defense systems suppress UAVs at a distance of up to two kilometers, using a narrow beam of directed action, and creating a "dome" of 360 degrees.

Russia presents intellectual alternative to Western neocolonialism

The Multipolarity Forum has kicked off in Moscow, featuring delegates from Asia, Africa, Latin America, Europe, and North America.

The forum will seek to provide blueprints for economic, technological, and cultural development in a post-Western hegemony world.

“Even a few years ago, people only spoke about the interests of the G7 or other exclusive groups. Today we’re slowly seeing this start to change.” Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has said.

"Our formations are open for everybody, and are meant for free and sovereign people" Zakharova added.

Key points from the speech of Russian political philosopher Alexander Dugin at the Multipolarity Forum in Moscow:

▪️ Multipolarity is an alternative philosophy, based on the idea that the West is not the only civilization on this planet, but merely one of many;

▪️ Multipolarity is not anti-Western, but against the West’s presumption of universality and exceptionalism;

▪️ Russia’s SMO helped accelerate the end of the unipolar world. We showed the entire world that you can stand your ground against the West and say no;

▪️ China offers an economic challenge to Western hegemony, the Islamic world offers a cultural and ideological challenge. Africa and Latin America are no longer Western colonies, but rising giants;

▪️ There is a battle between Globalist West and the Traditionalist West. Ordinary Westerners are also victims of the globalist system.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zakharova comments on Tucker-Putin interview during the Multipolarity Forum in Moscow:

▪️ Putin has been saying the same things he told Tucker Carlson for years, going back to the 2007 Munich Conference;

▪️ The reason this interview is being called historic is because the Western media is deliberately trying to keep Russia’s message from the rest of the world;

▪️ Dominance of Western media is information colonialism: “Why are you learning about Russia from CNN and Reuters?”

❗️ Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, referring to the termination of the investigation into the Nord Stream explosions by Denmark, described the situation as close to absurd.

In his opinion, it is obvious that the investigation had started to reach its closest allies.

Moscow has repeatedly requested information from Denmark about the investigation but received refusals, and now it cannot get the information, Peskov noted.

Latest statements by Russian-American television host and political scientist Dimitri K. Simes at the Multipolarity Forum in Moscow:

▪️ Russian leadership did not want to use military force against Ukraine, but it had no other choice because the West had been waging undeclared war against Russia for years — killing Russians in the Donbass, propping up the anti-Russian regime in Ukraine, and bringing military assets not just closer to Russia’s borders, but within range of Moscow;

▪️ Why is the West seeking to provoke Russia? Why do Western elites care more about Ukraine’s borders than their own borders? The answer is that they view Russia as a threat because it has become the leader of the multipolar world;

▪️ No one in Washington hides their intention to move against China if the West succeeds in inflicting “strategic defeat” on Russia;

▪️ The entire multipolar world has a vested interest in Russia’s victory over Ukraine and the Collective West.

Red Sea crisis faces new problem – oil tanker shortage

The Biden administration's strikes against Yemen's Houthi movement targets appear to be ineffective at resolving the ongoing Red Sea crisis. As the Houthis targeted the Torm Thor tanker in the Gulf of Aden the other day, the shipping crisis in the Red Sea is facing a new problem – a shortage of tankers.

Houthi attacks have already prompted traffic to be rerouted away from the Suez Canal, making journeys longer and costlier.

With only two new supertankers expected to join the aging fleet in 2024, as per Banchero Costa shipping services data, a lack of capacity is expected to make itself acutely felt.

“The situation is tight in the tanker market, in particular for crude oil tankers,” Enrico Paglia, research manager at Banchero Costa, was cited as saying. Media reports suggest the situation could grow even more challenging in the future.

The Houthi movement vowed in November 2023 to attack any ships associated with Israel until it halts military actions in the Gaza Strip. Neither the multinational operation to secure navigation in the Red Sea, nor US and UK strikes against Houthi positions have forced the Yemeni militia to cower. Instead, they have vowed to ramp up the campaign of attacks until Tel Aviv halts its campaign in Gaza.
