Zelensky’s Ukraine casualty numbers don’t match up with Western figures
At least 31,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed since February 2022, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Sunday.
This was the first official death toll from the Kiev regime in over a year. Zelensky’s estimate is wildly disparate with those that even US officials and the oft-distorted mainstream media have served up. Here is a look at some of them:
▪️January 2022: Gen. Eirik Kristoffersen, Norway's defense chief, offered an estimate of Ukraine’s losses appearing on Norwegian TV. “Ukrainian losses are probably over 100,000 dead or wounded,” Kristoffersen told TV2.
▪️September 2022: General Mark Milley, chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, speaking at the press conference at the Ramstein airbase in Germany, mentioned tens of thousands of Ukrainian losses
▪️Also at the time, unnamed US officials were quoted by The New York Times as saying privately that the numbers were closer to 120,000 killed and wounded.
▪️Feb. 21, 2023: A Pentagon trove of secrets leaked online through the Discord messaging platform said US officials believed that as of February, Ukraine had suffered 124,500 to 131,000 casualties.
▪️Aug. 18, 2023: US officials estimated Ukraine’s battlefield losses at close to 70,000 killed and 100,000 to 120,000 wounded. They claimed the figure was derived using satellite imagery, communication intercepts, social media and on-the-ground media reports
▪️When reporting on Zelensky's latest claim, both The New York Times and The Washington Post conceded that these figures could not be independently verified, with the NYT pointing out that it “differs sharply from estimates by US officials.”

❗️The Hungarian Parliament has approved Sweden’s application to join NATO.
The vote was 188 for and six against out of 199 deputies in the Hungarian parliament. Hungary became the last NATO country to approve Sweden's application.
By recruiting Sweden and Finland to the alliance, NATO has absorbed the last neutral countries of Scandinavia, seriously escalating tensions in Northern Europe and the Arctic and leaving global security even more fragile.

🇰🇵 The state news agency of the DPRK has sharply responded to remarks by Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Goncharenko, who spoke about Ukraine's readiness to fight North Korea in the future.
In an article, one of the agency's columnists called Ukraine "weak" and the DPRK a global nuclear power. Pyongyang considered Goncharenko's comments as "the height of ignorance and ridicule."

Scientists in Crimea have come up with an innovative nanopowder that can be used in aircraft construction, radiation protection, as well as the production of new materials and equipment, Vladimir Gavrish, director of the Advanced Technologies Center at Sevastopol University, told Sputnik.
According to Vladimir Gavrish, in aircraft construction, nanopowders can be used to create new alloys that are stronger and lighter, reducing the weight of aircraft and increasing their payload capacity. In radiation protection, nanopowders can be used to create new materials that absorb ionizing radiation more effectively.

"It can be used in many areas, now we have the best results in composite materials, radio-protective materials, in certain construction mixtures, concrete, cement, ceramics and so on. And further use is primarily additive technologies, possibly the creation of new devices, taking into account photocatalytic effects, the creation of new alloys," the scientist said.

Rats on a sinking ship: Why did NYT publish expose on CIA ops in Ukraine?
“They’re lying about the US role in those early stages,” former CIA analyst Larry Johnson told Sputnik, commenting on the NYT expose published Sunday on the US intel agency’s operations in Ukraine.
“And then, they’re saying that it was the United States trying to rein in Ukraine from carrying out all these terrorist attacks. So it’s really like we’re trying to send the message that ‘these attacks on Russia were not the fault of the United States, it was the Ukrainians acting on their own,’” which is another patent falsehood, according to Johnson.
The story’s publication is “a sign that the end is near for Ukraine,” the observer believes. “It’s a sign that the rats are starting to leave the sinking ship. This is their way to say that it’s not the fault of the United States. You know, ‘we did everything we could, it’s these crazy Ukrainians.’ This is part of a ‘blame Ukraine’” narrative.

“They’re lying about the US and British role in helping create the coup and what happened in the Maidan. They’re acting like ‘oh, you know, the Maidan happened and then the CIA was contacted, after the fact’. Well that’s not true,” Johnson said.

Everything you need to know about the late head of the Rothschild banking clan
Billionaire financier Lord Jacob Rothschild has died at the age of 87. For over 200 years the European dynasty of bankers of Jewish heritage has been credited with financing social and economic upheavals, military operations and election campaigns across the globe. They were reputed to be involved in with behind-the-scenes negotiations that resulted in Britain pledging to establish "a national home for the Jewish people" in Palestine in 1917, leading to creation of Israel.
📍 But what exactly do we know about the shady deals of the late baron?
In 2006, Jacob Rothschild was revealed as a figurehead for Russian oligarch Mikhail Khodorkovsky, who once controlled Russian oil company Yukos — which went bankrupt in 2006. Khodorkovsky had amassed huge wealth in the privatization wave of the 1990s. He was arrested in 2003 on charges of embezzlement and tax fraud.
Control of Khodorkovsky’s shares in Yukos passed to Jacob Rothschild under a “deal” they concluded earlier, the Sunday Times reported at the time.
Khodorkovsky and Lord Rothschild jointly financed projects of the UK-registered Open Russia Foundation. The private NGO was banned as “undesirable” by Russia’s Prosecutor General’s Office in 2017.

Zelensky's pack of lies to wheedle more money out of West
At a Sunday press conference in Kiev, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made several unbelievable statements to persuade his Western partners to fork out for more arms, Alexander Mikhailov, analyst and head of the Bureau of Military-Political Analysis in Russia told Sputnik:
🟥 Zelensky said that Ukraine had lost just 31,000 troops killed since the outset of the conflict — far less than the 70,000 dead estimated by US officials last summer. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Ukraine lost 159,000 killed and wounded during the 2023 counteroffensive alone.
🟥 He claimed that Ukraine has a clear winning strategy for 2024, whereas a few months ago it had none. But in fact the front-line situation has got worse. In any case, having a "plan" doesn't mean it would bear fruit — as the summer counteroffensive showed — the analyst pointed out.
🟥 The Ukrainian president noted that Moscow knew of the plans for Ukraine's counteroffensive before it even began. According to the analyst, Zelensky is simply trying to shift the blame for his failure. If Zelensky was telling the truth, then kudos to the Russian intelligence service, Mikhailov remarked.

❗️ The European Commission urged Kiev to show understanding for the position of European farmers and start exporting Ukrainian grain for sale to third countries.
Earlier this week, tractors flying Polish flags blocked highways and major intersections at the country's border crossings with Ukraine as part of protracted protests in which farmers spilled Ukrainian grain on the road to protest unchecked Ukrainian food imports. Similar protests have taken place in Germany, Italy, and France.

Residents of the Gaza Strip would not be able to return to the northern part of the enclave until all hostages still held by Hamas were released, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said.
The defense minister added that Israel had "no moral right" to halt hostilities as long as a single hostage remained in Gaza. Even if another pause is agreed upon, Israel will return to the fight "to eliminate the Hamas organization" and return all the abductees, Gallant said.

"We are working around the clock to reach conditions that will allow us to return the hostages. As part of the negotiations, we are working to maintain pressure on Hamas. The position of the defense ministry will be clear: the full return of civilians to the northern Gaza Strip will take place only after the return of all hostages," Gallant said at a meeting with family members of the hostages in Tel Aviv.

Russian FPV drones destroy military equipment, troops, and dugouts south of Donetsk
Finding Ukrainian troops' machine-gun positions, dugouts, and armoured vehicles is the primary responsibility of drone operators. When they notice a tank or an IFV approaching, the operator loads a projectile on an FPV drone and engages an identified target within 3–4 minutes.
The soldiers believe that the main advantage of using drones is the increased effective distance. Not a single RPG shot can fly three kilometres away.

Republican Congressman Ken Buck, who has been critical of rushing to impeach President Biden, is now planning to introduce a resolution urging Biden's Cabinet to consider invoking the 25th Amendment to remove him from office.
While the report did not recommend charges against the president, it described him as a "well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory".

"Numerous instances were articulated in the report, and have played out in full public view, showing President Biden’s apparent cognitive decline and lack of mental stamina," the House Republican from Colorado said, expressing concerns about President Biden's mental fitness for office while citing the findings of Special Counsel Robert Hur's report on the president's handling of classified documents.
While the report did not recommend charges against the president, it described him as a "well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory".
Buck said the report "addressed what many Americans have long witnessed with their own eyes – that President Biden is no longer fit to successfully discharge the critical duties of his office."

NATO countries disagree on the prospect of sending their troops to Ukraine and no such decisions have been made, Polish President Andrzej Duda told reporters following the end of a pro-Ukraine conference which took place in Paris on Tuesday.
French President Emmanuel Macron added that "nothing can be ruled out," commenting on the possibility of sending NATO troops to Ukraine.
On Monday, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said that several EU and NATO countries are considering the possibility of sending their military to Ukraine on the basis of bilateral agreements.
Russia has repeatedly warned NATO countries that arms supplies to Ukraine would be considered legitimate targets. Moscow has accused NATO countries of "playing with fire" by arming Ukraine, emphasizing that such actions hinder the possibility of Russia-Ukraine negotiations.

"If we are talking about providing specific assistance, then individual countries decide what kind of assistance they specifically provide to Ukraine. There was a heated discussion about sending soldiers to Ukraine, and there was no absolute mutual understanding on this issue. There are different opinions. But I want to emphasize that there are absolutely no such decisions," Duda claimed.

Pro-Palestinian protesters have gathered in the lobby of the corporate media outlet NBC in New York to interrupt President Joe Biden's upcoming appearance on the Late Night with Seth Meyers segment, American media reported.
Hundreds of people were chanting "Stop arming genocide" in reference to Israel's military actions in the Gaza Strip that have resulted in the death of some 30,000 Palestinians and the displacement of nearly 2 million Palestinians there amid widespread hunger.
New York police officers have arrested several of the protesters, the report said.
Biden is visiting New York for what the White House described as a "campaign meeting," without revealing additional details.
