Ukraine buckles to trade restriction demands from key donor Poland

Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade Representative Taras Kachka has stated that Kiev is willing to accept restrictions on trade between Ukraine and the EU in order to ease tensions with Poland, according to the Financial Times.

This decision comes as Ukraine attempts to resolve a heated political conflict with Poland, which has been a strong supporter of the Kiev regime, providing refuge to hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian asylum seekers and aiding in the transfer of Western military aid to the Zelensky regime.

Relations between Poland and Ukraine soured last year due to the high volume of cheap and low-quality Ukrainian grain entering the EU market. Following the expiration of EU restrictions on September 15, 2023, Warsaw extended a ban in place on duty-free imports of Ukrainian grain. In response, Polish farmers staged widespread protests across the country in February of this year.

📹 CIA veteran Larry Johnson:

This was her [Victoria Nuland's] thing in 2014, when the Maidan occurred. She was the one on the phone with the ambassador, [Geoffrey R.] Pyatt, trying to figure out who the United States was going to put it in as president of Ukraine. So, she's been one of the puppet mistresses behind the scenes pulling the strings.

🇷🇺🇨🇳🚀 What you need to know about Russia-China space program?

Russian Space Agency Roscosmos and the China National Space Administration (CNSA) signed a cooperation agreement in 2022, spanning 2023-2027. It includes a plan to build an International Scientific Lunar Station in three stages:

Stage 1️⃣: Joint lunar missions exploring Moon, determining the optimal location for the lunar station and verification of technology for safe high-precision soft landing.

Stage 2️⃣: Establishing a lunar base control center, delivery of bulk cargo, setting up orbital modules for supply of power, communications and provision of transport services.

Stage 3️⃣: Joint exploration of the Moon's surface and expanding functionality of the lunar station modules.

🔶 From 2026 to 2030, two missions will test landing and cargo-delivery technologies and bring back lunar rock samples.

🔶 From 2031 to 2035, research, electricity, communications infrastructure will be placed in orbit, and on the lunar surface. Technical lunar rovers, several smart mini-rovers and a jumping robot will be used.

🔶 From 2033-2035, Russia and China plan to deliver a power unit to the lunar surface.

As part of the joint project, Russia and China also plan to ensure their global satellite navigation systems, GLONASS and BeiDou, complement each other. Russia will build GLONASS ground stations in three Chinese cities: Changchun, Urumqi, and Shanghai. BeiDou stations will be installed in Russia’s Obninsk, Irkutsk and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

Birds of a feather: warmonger to fill Nuland's shoes amid Ukraine crisis

After Victoria Nuland's abrupt decision to resign as Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs, her shoes have been temporarily filled by US career diplomat John R. Bass.

▪️Bass was special assistant to Deputy Secretary of State Strobe Talbott between 1998 and 2000. He was part of team that negotaited the end of the Kosovo conflict during the NATO invasion of Yugoslavia.

▪️Like Victoria Nuland, he served as a special advisor to Vice President Dick Cheney, the architect of the 2003 Iraq War, between 2004 and 2005.

▪️Bass served as a US Ambassador to Georgia between 2009 and 2012, following Tbilisi's failed invasion of South Ossetia. He came under criticism from the Georgian opposition in 2011 for meddling in the nation's affairs by encouraging a crackdown on protests.

▪️During his time as a US Ambassador to Turkiye between 2014 and 2017, Bass was lambasted by the Turkish press for coming out in "support of terrorist organizations during his three-year tenure as US envoy in Ankara", including the Kurdish separatist PKK and Fethullah Gulen’s associates.

▪️In August 2021 Bass, a former ambassador to Afghanistan, was forced to return to Kabul as his successor was not "able to function at the level that was necessary" amid the disastrous US evacuation. Bass' appointment did not save the day for the Biden adminsitration.

▪️In March 2024, Bass was chosen to replace Nuland, who quit after US-backed Ukrainian forces lost the battle for Adveyevka and Congressional support for the conflict dried up.
