Israeli PM Netanyahu doesn’t fear US President Biden because he knows that Biden is depending on the Zionist vote in the US 2024 Presidential election, veteran war correspondent Elijah Magnier told radio Sputnik.

“We have a clear challenge from Israel to President Biden and in particular, Benjamin Netanyahu,” Magnier said, referring to Netanyahu’s comments that Israel will invade Rafah, despite Biden’s protests. “This challenge comes from a position of strength, where Netanyahu is saying to Biden ‘You’ve lost the support of American Arabs, and if you stand against me, you will lose the support of Zionist [as well.]... are you going to risk this when you have strong opposition represented by [former US President] Donald Trump?... This is why Benjamin Netanyahu doesn’t fear standing up and challenging Joe Biden.”

“He's basically saying to Joe Biden, ‘Keep your mouth shut. It’s much better [that way] because I am doing what I want. Anything you are saying or planning or putting red lines does not work for us, because at the end of the day, we have our own plan,” Magnier added.

Those plans, Magnier fears, include the elimination of Palestine entirely. “Once [Israel’s campaign in Gaza] is over and when Gaza will be under Israeli military control, the next step is to say to the Palestinians, 'okay, we've given you enough time to play around. Now… forget about anything that is called a Palestinian state.' That is the inevitable step that Israel is going to take after Gaza.”

Embattled Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henry has tendered his resignation, according to Mohamed Irfaan Ali, Guyana’s president.

Henry reportedly confirmed his resignation in a telephone conversation US with Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who was in Jamaica for an emergency Caribbean meeting on Haiti.

Blinken had promised an additional $100m for a United Nations-backed force to bring order to the chaos-gripped country, along with $30m-worth of humanitarian assistance. The regional meeting of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) on the Haiti crisis had consulted virtually with Henry at a time when armed gangs were already controlling most of Haiti's capital.

Mohamed Irfaan Ali, current CARICOM chair, announced in a press conference later that Henry will resign “upon the establishment of a transitional presidential council and the naming of an interim prime minister.”

A month-long state of emergency has been in place in Port-au-Prince and the surrounding region since the unrest began in late February. At the time, Henry, who took over the post of prime minister unelected in 2021 after the assassination of Haiti’s then-president Jovenel Moise, had been out of the country. Henry had been trying to coordinate the deployment of a foreign contingent in Haiti to fight gangs. However, the armed groups paralyzed life in the capital and did not want the prime minister to return.

Boeing reportedly fails more than third of FAA quality control inspections

Boeing has failed 33 of 89 Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) inspections stemming from a January incident in which part of the fuselage of an Alaska Airlines 737 MAX was lost, The New York Times reported, citing FAA data.

The inspections lasted six weeks and involved both Boeing and Spirit AeroSystems, which makes the fuselage for the Boeing 737 MAX.

FAA documents show that its representatives saw Spirit AeroSystems mechanics use a hotel key card to check the door seal, and that liquid soap was used "as a lubricant in the assembly process" when working on the seal.

Boeing has faced several challenges in recent years, most notably the Boeing 737 MAX crisis, which involved a series of technical issues and two fatal plane crashes. On January 5, Alaska Airlines Flight 1282, carrying 171 passengers and six crew members, made an emergency landing shortly after takeoff in Portland, Oregon after a door plug detached midair.

Local authorities found Boeing whistleblower John Barnett dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the state of South Carolina over the weekend, the Charleston County Coroner's Office said in a press release.

Barnett was recently cross-examined by Boeing's lawyers and his own attorney, and he was scheduled to answer more questions this past Saturday but failed to appear, media reported.

Barnett, who worked at Boeing for over three decades before retiring in 2017, accused the company of cutting corners in order to get its 787 Dreamliner jets out of production quickly at the North Charleston plant, compromising the safety of the aircraft.
