WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and his partner Stella Moris have registered their intention to hold a wedding in Belmarsh prison in London, where he's awaiting a legal decision on his extradition requested by the US.

The couple have been engaged for five years and have two children together. They were allowed to get married in jail after filing a lawsuit against Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab and Belmarsh Governor for obstructing their marriage.
🚔👍 A website that saves lives: a fake “Rent-A-Hitman” website, which appears to offer "customisable solutions for every situation," helped to twart actual murders, the media says.

The website was set up by California resident Bob Ines back in 2005 and has since helped prevent over 100 murders in the United States.

🔸One such case involved a British woman who allegedly sought to have three family members killed who had supposedly cheated her out of her inheritance.

🔸 The other case involved Wendy Wein, 52, from Michigan, who allegedly attempted to hire an assassin via the website to murder her ex-husband.

👀 Secret donors reportedly spent $100 mln to attract potential Biden voters - young people, people of colour and unmarried women - to the polls in the 2020 election.

According to Tom Lopach, the non-profit The Voter Participation Center's chief executive, the group delivered some 300 million digital messages and 371 million pieces of mail during the 2020 election cycle, urging people to vote by mail or take part in early voting.

Overall, he estimated that the group helped some 1.6 million people register to vote and another 4.5 million apply for mail-in ballots, noting that some 272,000 people might not have cast their ballot had it not been for the group's efforts.

🔵 While the group does not advocate for specific candidates, the targeted voter groups overwhelmingly tend to vote blue.
🧐 Trump attorneys claim that the Jan. 6 Committee's pursuit of White House docs could cause lasting damage to the presidency and lead to a political tradition of legal revenge.

🗣 "An incumbent president would always be able to condemn the actions of a former president from a rival party and permit confidentiality to be broken to further political ends," Trump's legal team wrote in a brief filed in the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.

Trump is appealing a previous ruling by US District Judge Tanya Chutkan, who said that the former president must turn over the requested documents, which include over 700 pages of visitor logs, speech drafts, White House call logs, and other records.
🦃 When the holiday doesn’t go as you planned: Lara Trump blames Democrats for the rise in turkey prices, says it’s part of a left-wing plot to destroy Thanksgiving

Lara Trump, the wife of Donald Trump’s son Eric, declared that the left are trying to ruin American traditions. But why would they do that?

🗣“They have told us from the beginning that they want to fundamentally transform America,” she said of Democrats.
“How do you do that? You have to transform America from the inside out, you have to take away our traditions. It might seem a little funny and a little ridiculous – don’t have a turkey – then people won’t come over.”

She also referred to 2020, complaining that it was Democrats who didn't want Americans to get together on the holiday after the CDC, in the middle of a raging pandemic, advised against Thanksgiving travel, but stopped short of an outright ban.

🇨🇳🇹🇼 Five US lawmakers ignore Beijing’s warnings by arriving in Taiwan on Thursday to meet with government officials of the island nation.

🗣"When news of our trip broke yesterday, my office received a blunt message from the Chinese Embassy, telling me to call off the trip," remarked Rep. Elissa Slotkin, a Michigan Democrat. "The auto industry's largest supplier of microchips is here in Taiwan, so supply chain issues will most definitely be on the agenda."

The visit is "good to connect with leaders here to discuss a whole host of economic and national security issues," noted Slotkin.

Now, it's your turn in this game, Beijing.
Rep. Ilhan Omar called out Rep. Lauren Boebert’s anti-Muslim ‘made up’ tale and denied the veracity of an incident Boebert said took place at the Capitol.

🗣 “Anti-Muslim bigotry isn’t funny & shouldn’t be normalized. Congress can’t be a place where hateful and dangerous Muslims tropes get no condemnation,” Omar tweeted.

🧐 Jeffrey Epstein’s final days behind bars were filled with fear, anxiety, and lies.

New documents obtained by the NYT from the Federal Bureau of Prisons have revealed how he spent his last days in a New York detention centre.

🔸According to the papers, Epstein was initially described at an intake screening as a Black male who had no prior sex offense convictions – he actually had two from 2008.

🔸On 9 July, the billionaire underwent a suicide risk evaluation which found him pleasant, accommodating, coherent, and even humorous.

🔸On 23 July, Epstein tried to take his own life – allegedly after being denied bail five days prior to that.

🔸Following the attempt, he was only on suicide watch for 31 hours.

🔸As Epstein's stay in prison continued, he started complaining about water running in his toilet, the orange prison attire, difficulty sleeping, dehydration, numbness in his arm, and constipation.

🔸He was found dead in his jail cell on 10 August, hanged with his bedsheets.
