Record floods swept across Russia and neighboring regions
More than 10,400 homes in 39 entities across Russia have been flooded, with the Urals, Siberia, as well as the Volga and central regions being the worst hit.
The Russian Emergencies Ministry said that the spring floods had been caused by "an increase in air temperatures, active snow melt and river openings."
▫️ An emergency has been declared in the Orenburg region near Kazakhstan after the Ural River, the third longest in Europe, quickly swelled and burst through a dam in the city of Orsk.
🔸 Almost 4,500 people in the region have been evacuated due to the flooding as Orenburg Mayor Sergei Salmin warned on Monday "the situation will only get worse in the next two days."
🔸 The complicated development remains in the Kurgan and Tyumen regions, where local authorities also announced emergencies amid forecasts about rising water in Siberia’s Ishim and Tobol rivers.
🔸 Russian President Vladimir Putin asked the government to form a special commission to deal with the worst recorded flooding in the Orenburg, Kurgan and Tyumen regions.
🔸 Additionally, inundation of houses and roads are currently in place in the Samara, Saratov, and Ulyanovsk regions, as well as in the Republics of Bashkiria, Mordovia and Tatarstan.
🔸 Kazakhstan – the former Soviet republic – has also been affected by the floods, with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev admitting that it is "the worst natural disaster to hit the country in more than 80 years." He added that emergencies had been declared in ten regions in northern Kazakhstan.

'Worst kind of genocide’: People in Gaza were killed block by block at the will of an Israeli AI machine Israeli journalist Yuval Abraham's investigation into an Israeli military AI program has revealed that Tel Aviv's special services and the army let a…
Responsibility for Gaza: it is not the AI machine that should be punished, but the people who set it at work
Who is going to be held responsible for the use of an Israeli AI machine that ordered the destruction of 37,000 people in Gaza?
Israeli journalist Yuval Abraham, who did an investigation on Lavender, thinks that its creators and users knew that not all identifications were precise:
Mistakes could be caused by coincidentally similar names, surnames, or even nicknames. And the Israelis knowingly doomed these people to a terrible death, “rubber-stamping” the decisions taken by a machine, despite knowing hat around 10% of those marked were not with Hamas, he said.
Reham Owda, an independent political analyst from Gaza, told Sputnik that ultimate responsibility lies with Israel’s special services:

Who is going to be held responsible for the use of an Israeli AI machine that ordered the destruction of 37,000 people in Gaza?
“Essentially, the human being that imagines, designs, creates and then triggers such a machine into action, that person is responsible for everything that results from his or her actions,” former US State Department analyst Scott Bennett told Sputnik.
Israeli journalist Yuval Abraham, who did an investigation on Lavender, thinks that its creators and users knew that not all identifications were precise:
“What Lavender does is scanning the information on the people inside a given building in Gaza. The artificial intelligence, i.e. a machine, gives every individual a rating (on a scale from 1 to 100) on the likelihood that this individual is a member of Hamas,” Abraham stated.

Reham Owda, an independent political analyst from Gaza, told Sputnik that ultimate responsibility lies with Israel’s special services:
“Military Intelligence Directorate (Aman) and Israel’s Internal Security service Shabak are the two security directorates that are responsible for the strikes made with the use of AI. Because their members are responsible for the data, loaded into [IDF’s] computer system… And that system included classification of each Palestinian person by his or her age, education, profession, etc.”

Russia unveils jam-proof communication system for FPV drones
The team behind the "Piranha" FPV drones project has developed a communication system that is impervious to electronic warfare tools, an expert from the Simbirsk Design Bureau told Russian journalists. This resilience is achieved through rapid frequency range switching.
Their communication system allows seamless switching between three frequency ranges in real-time during missions.
In the event of an enemy attempt to jam the drone, its operator can simply adjust the frequency or switch the entire range, enabling the mission to proceed unaffected.

Russia's Strategic Rocket Forces conduct drills in Irkutsk with YARS nuclear missiles
The Strategic Rocket Forces have finished their drills in Russia's Irkutsk region where they trained to act under conditions of chemical hazard or repel attacks from sabotage groups.
The maneuvers propelled around YARS ICBM - a formidable nuclear weapon which is launched from a mobile platform. Armed with several independently targetable warheads and capable of reaching targets beyond 11,000 kilometers, YARS is a boogieman that haunts the dreams of NATO generals.
YARS is a Russian acronym that stands for "Nuclear Deterrence Missile." As a responsible state, Russia adheres to No First Use policy and vows to unleash its nuclear arsenal only in case of a major attack against the country.

Turkiye vs. Israel: A new trade war? (Part 1)
Tel Aviv rejected Turkiye's request to send humanitarian aid to Gaza residents on Monday, prompting Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to promise a number of measures against Israel in response. On Tuesday, Turkiye imposed export restrictions on 54 groups of goods being sold to Israel. In turn, Israel will ask the US to stop investing in the Turkish economy and impose sanctions, said the head of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
What to expect from the potential trade war in the region?
🔸Turkiye's now-restricted exports include aluminum, steel and copper profiles, dyes, all iron and steel-made building materials, as well as equipment, electrical and fiber optic cables, chemical compounds and fertilizers, aviation gasoline and fuel. Fidan noted that "these measures will continue until Israel declares a ceasefire and humanitarian aid is delivered to Gaza without interruption";
🔸Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz ordered his team to prepare "an extensive list of products that Turkiye will not be able to export to Israel" on Tuesday;
🔸Katz also highlighted that, "Israel will call on pro-Israeli countries and organizations in the US to stop investing in Turkiye and ban the import of Turkish goods, as well as appeal to the US Congress to look into Turkiye's violation of boycott laws against Israel and impose appropriate sanctions";

🔸Meanwhile, Israel has exported fresh produce, agricultural equipment, including for drip irrigation and greenhouses, petroleum products and equipment for the production of renewable energy to Turkiye during the same period;
