The West should admit that attacks on Zaporozhye nuclear power plant were carried out by Ukraine - Moscow

"It is reckless to claim that the attacks on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant are not connected with the Kiev regime, but Western countries simply cannot admit the obvious fact," Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told Sputnik.

As soon as the West realizes that the attacks on the Zaporozhye plant are carried out by the Ukrainian armed forces, the Western myth about Ukraine and Zelensky will fall apart, she added.

"There are no guarantees that Kiev will not use Western tranches for its attacks on the Zaporozhye plant, and there are no guarantees that Zelensky will not start blackmailing his handlers, threatening to intensify these attacks if he does not get the next tranche," the Russian diplomat added.

Western nations "have created a monster with potential consequences that they are now reluctant to acknowledge," Zakharova said. They seem to be brainwashing themselves with talk about how dangerous incidents should not be repeated, she concluded.

Ukrainian forces recently carried out a kamikaze drone attack on the Zaporozhye plant, the latest in a series of such attacks since Russia's special military operation began. The latest attack came shortly after a team of specialists from the International Atomic Energy Agency inspected the Zaporozhye plant.

Faster and better: Russia announces its high-speed rail between Moscow and St. Petersburg

Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed the government to allocate 300 billion rubles ($3.2 billion) in 2025 to build a high-speed railway from Moscow to St. Petersburg. Domestic designs, materials and equipment will be used for the project.

◼️ Over 20 countries, mostly in Asia and Europe, have high-speed rail networks. High speed trains are seen as a competitive alternative to flying as they can cruise up to 355 km/h or higher, including Al Boraq in Marocco, AVE S-103 in Spain, TGV in France, ICE3 in Germany as well as the Shanghai Maglev and CR400 in China. Russia's project ensures the country's technological sovereignty and uniqueness, being on a par or exceeding existing foreign projects.

◼️ Russia's high-speed railway is expected to become operational in 2028. Trains will run every 10-15 minutes at speeds of up to 400 km per hour, reducing the travel time from the Russian capital to St. Petersburg to just 2 hours 15 minutes, half the time it takes today.

◼️ The total length of the high-speed railway will be 680 kilometers. It will pass through the territory of six regions, including the Moscow, Novgorod, Tver and Leningrad regions.

◼️ The main infrastructure elements for high-speed railway will be used for the first time in Russia, including the ballast-free technologies for high-speed tracks (instead of sleepers, rails are attached to a concrete base). The rails will be at least 100 m long. The Sinara machine-building holding was picked to supply the rolling stock for the project.

◼️ The project will contribute to the development of domestic tourism, the growth in jobs, tax revenues and the emergence of new industrial clusters, giving a boost to Russia's economic development.

🪖 Ukraine must start mobilizing women, says chief army adviser

The Ukrainian army needs to change its approach to the recruitment process, start mobilizing women along with men, said Oksana Grigorieva, chief adviser to the Ukrainian army on gender issues, according to reports.

Grigorieva was referring to Israel, where women are recruited under the same conditions as men.

There are currently 65,000 women serving in Ukraine's armed forces, according to the government. The vast majority are volunteers, as there is no compulsory military service for women, although women with medical degrees are required to register with their local draft board.

Chemical Weapons Convention you say? How Ukraine uses warfare agents against Russian troops

Russian security forces have reported that the Ukrainian Army used chemical weapons, presumably white phosphorus, near the village of Kleshcheyevka in the Donetsk People's Republic.

This is not the first time the Kiev regime has used banned Western-supplied agents against Russian forces in the conflict. Here are some previous cases:

▪️In late January, the Ukrainian Armed Forces used an unknown toxic chemical that caused burns, with subsequent analysis showing the presence of a compound known as anthraquinone, the use of which is banned in EU countries due to its carcinogenicity;

▪️In late December, American-made gas grenades loaded with a substance called CS capable of causing skin burns and respiratory paralysis were dropped by the Ukrainian military near the town of Krasny Liman;

▪️In July 2023, Ukrainian militants fired at Russian positions near Kleshcheyevka with shells containing chlorine (a war gas that creates a choking effect), which left several soldiers hospitalized;

▪️In mid-June last year, a Ukrainian drone carrying a plastic container with a mixture of chloroacetophenone and chloropicrin (both are irritant war gases) was used against Russian troops outside the village of Rabotino;

▪️Earlier in 2023, cases of the hydrocyanic acid used Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were recorded. Hydrocyanic acid pertains to the group of deadly blood and nerve agents;

▪️In August 2022, a toxic chemical, an analog of the psychotropic warfare agent BZ, was used by Ukrainian troops in an unspecified location. Ukraine is a signatory to the Chemical Weapons Convention, which prohibits the use, large-scale development, production, stockpiling, or transfer of chemical weapons or their precursors.
