"Unless the United States seeks an even greater escalation in the region and sacrifice its own forces for Netanyahu's personal interests, it should stand aside and allow Iran to avenge the attack on the consulate in Damascus and prevent Israel from trying to expand the war in the region."

“The drones and missiles being fired into Israel are what the Iron Dome is made for, and that system has a 90% success rate, meaning ten percent get through.  But the handicap is the cost and availability of the missiles that it fires to intercept these airborne weapons.  Each Iron Dome missile costs nearly $50 thousand each, and the quantity of these missiles is not unlimited.  Therefore Israel must decide at some point how to make the attacks stop.”

“This could lead to a hotter war, or it could lead to some negotiations and diplomacy, relating to Gaza, and also other neighbors,” she added.  “The mindset of Israel’s neighbors is not one that wishes to negotiate, most agree that Israel needs punishment for her actions in Gaza, the West Bank, and her aggressive tactics in Lebanon and Syria. Israel is today weak, and I think all parties understand now there is an unusual opportunity to seriously hurt her.”
